So I was pregnant 2 months and Jaya Bhat confirmed it. Unfortunately, she had to leave Bangalore for urgent work and I decided to consult another renowned gynaec attached with Apollo because I started to bleed heavily in the middle of 2 months. This doctor prescribed a number of tests, of which trans-vaginal scan was the most important. It was almost immediately confirmed that it was an ectopic pregnancy and that I was internally bleeding and that it could be fatal if not operated upon in the next 3 hours. The clinic called up the Apollo doctor informing her of the urgency and the doc asked me to get admitted to Apollo as soon as possible for the removal of my fallopian tubes because that was apparently the only way to treat a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

It was a last moment decision, waiting at Apollo’s reception to be admitted, to call Mrs. Bhat’s secretary to find out when she would be back. To my surprise and much relief, she informed me Dr. Jaya Bhat had already arrived in Bangalore and would begin consulting her patients the next day onwards. When I explained my situation to her, she was helpful enough to connect me to Dr. Bhat who sked me to get admitted to Manipal. My immediate question was whether even she thought I had to get my fallopian tubes removed. She said she wasn’t sure unless she had a look at the reports. So as you can guess, there was a ray of hope that I may perhaps escape the life-changing surgery. I decided to risk it.

Bhat had already briefed Manipal about my condition and they were prompt enough to admit me as soon as I reached. The on-duty gynaec along with her assistants called up Dr. Bhat and shared their findings from my scan report with her. Bhat decided I could wait till the next day morning to figure if I needed to go under the knife and put me on drip in case I needed the surgery. Unfortunately, she couldn’t come in person to visit me as she had just landed and thought I didn’t need an emergency surgery. I was petrified all through the night thinking if I was still alive!

The next morning I woke up to Dr. Bhat’s warm greetings when she inquired in details about my symptoms – pain, discomfort, nausea, etc. She decided that my ectopic pregnancy had not ruptured and that I could still be treated with oral medicines! She advised another scan at Manipal and going by the reports, injected me with an abortive medicine called Methotrexate. My haemoglobin count that had drastically gone down started to face up and the external bleeding too came down. I started to feel a lot better and the final scan revealed that the foetus had completely dissolved and that there was no more internal bleeding.

I couldn’t thank her enough for not putting me under the knife and saving me from ensuing psychological trauma. Years of experience, an incredible knack to read symptoms, and the eagerness to educate the patient’s family about the right and the wrong make Dr. Jaya Bhat stand out in the crowd.

I am sharing my experience in detail. My wife was suffering from pelvic pain after menstrual period days and in usg it was found that she was having endometriotic cyst. I was consulting in a popular maternity hospital (with a famous OBG ) and she suggested laparoscopy and also told that my wife may need some treatment / IVF to get pregnant in future based on USG report. She requested my wife to stop her school job and should try for baby immediately after laparoscopy. We were very much depressed at that time, one of my friend told me about Dr. Jaya Bhat to take second opinion.

Fortis. There were only a very few patients for her and we were confused whether we came to correct doctor or not. But things changed totally when we entered into the her cabin and spoke with her. She saw all the reports and suggested similar laparoscopy (cystectomy) but we were impressed by her confidence and way of talking. She told that after doing laparoscopy she would tell us future course of treatment for my wife but encouraged my wife to continue her job which we liked a lot.

Also, she wrote the same in prescription "can get pregnant naturally". We were loosing patience but at the beginning of 6th month my wife got pregnant. I messaged Dr. Bhat but she was abroad at that time, so we continued pregnancy treatment in a maternity hospital and even they were surprised at first shot how my wife conceived naturally with suspected endometriosis. But when they saw "Dr. Jaya Bhat" in my wife's case history they did not ask anything further. Finally, I have become father last month and we believe it is all because of Dr. Jaya Bhat, her rich experience and obviously God's blessings.

I was appalled and went to another gynac who was understanding enough to help me and not be judgemental or rude.

She needs to quit her practice and stay at home.
