Afi low at 30 weeks pregnancy
Hi i m 30 week pregnant my afi is 10.6 ..my gynaecologist advice for a c-section saying it is too low .... last night i had an ultrasound doppler all measurements were normal and nst non reactive . My pulse rate is around 100 and i m O-ve .Doc also suggested to give steroids for earlt delivery plz suggest what should i do ...bcz doctors at ultrasound suggested u dont need an emergency Csction rt now

Dear Practo User, Your AFI is not low , so no need to rush to CS at 30 wks of gestation ,  as you are saying Doppler findings are all normal , so might be a possibility that NST was not done correctly or done for less time ,better repeat it again next week  and meanwhile keep a track on baby's movement . If NST is again non reactive , a repeat scan with Doppler will be needed.

Ya. You dont need cesarean section right now as afi is not too low, dopplers normal. You can repeat ultrasound after 15 days. Take high protein diet. Argin also you can have.
