My mother age 50 has done a random blood sugar test  after meal ..and the result is 275 ..Is this a normal or diabetes..

Hi A random blood sugar taken at the age of 59 yrs without a previous history with or without diabetes does not indicate the correct pic Hence I suggest you to do a fasting blood sugar , pp blood sugar) blood test done two hrs after breakfast and a HbA1C test and then come back on Practo we can see if there is diabetes issue or not.

Hi This range is under diabetic range. But you can go for fasting HBa1c which will give you the correct picture of the sugar level .

Hi, I hope your doing well. Random blood sugar 275 is quiet high, You should check her fasting and HbA1c values. Blood sugar rises due to many reasons not only food like stress, medications, any other underline disease, sedentary lifestyle. Early symptoms of diabetes Headache Increased thirst Frequent urination Fatigue You can check all of these symptoms and correlate with her sugar levels

Take fasting,  post lunch and HBA1c then only it can be decided the the person is diabetic or not.
