Dt. Pradnya Padhye is a Registered Dietitian and has been practicing for the last 17 years, helping people “Get Healthy the Right Way”. She is the Founder and the Chief Nutritionist at Balcal Nutrefy. Pradnya is an avid marathoner and has done her Masters in Food and Nutrition. She has worked with prestigious hospitals like Lilavati Hospital & Bhatia Hospital in Mumbai and has a sound foundation in clinical nutrition.Her motto has been to “Educate people about the importance of developing the right eating habits to stay healthy & nourished”.
I started my journey focusing on health improvement. I was 90kgs and was feeling heavy and unhealthy. I wanted to change that. Once I was clear only way was to work hard and work it out, I started with 1 km walking. It was around this time my friend suggested to slowly increase the pace and distance and go jn for wholistic approach of including diet in my schedules. Till then for me diet therapy or counseling was about starving and I was not ready or in agreement with it. Pleasantly on connecting to Pradnya as suggested by my friend it turned out the sessions n suggestions were all about eating and eating right.After a month of trial and being skeptical, I liked the suggestions , followup and was enthusiastic about the engagement, my following , results and more importantly my comfort in following suggestions. I extended the program by 3 months as I wanted to learn and continue to a point of being independent.
This was where I was positive and the sessions,engagement, tips, answering all queries and questions were great affirming my decision to try this. I appreciate Mrudula who was later assigned to me and who guided me for her meticulous followup, motivation, with options to change the diet to fit my readiness and situation at home considering Pandemic times. This also included my likings,dislikes, availability of vegetables to groceries. Mrudula has been in my journey all throughout.Has been very meticulous with appointments, time, routine and followups.Also appreciate Pradnya for keeping herself updated at all times and coming in with her suggestions.
With proper suggestions on exercise and food / diet variation suggestion and never starving, I could see the results reaching right BMI.
I am writing about my experience 2 month after the last session, must say the 4 month sessions have changed me in a way that I manged to continue and keep the learnings going and being stable on my BMI and weight at 72 kgs. Feels a little lighter and healthier whithe target.

Although I had consulted few nutritionists in the past but the experience here was of a different level . The patient hearing that the doctor gave to understand what I was looking for & then determining what was right for me was truly commendable. Hi I’m Sonu Sahani; I lead a normal active life of a housewife;I was careful about my exercise, eating habits n the like; I was putting on weight in spite of my active lifestyle, which was worrying; In the course of my exercise class at Joints n Motion, I kept on hearing the name of Dr Pradnya n how she was instrumental in shaping many of our members health n weight issues; These people were right in front of me: part of my daily life; I decided to visit her; was a bit apprehensive initially as I had heard tales of how some nutritionists change the entire diet n introduce new fads; I was completely wrong;Dr Padhye sat me down n first explained about weight, fats, n the body n areas it affects; I was put at ease; I was in my menopausal age n perfectly understood the fact that the metabolism slows down;I wasn’t overambitious of going back to the weight of my 30 year old self; this was explained to me very well by the Dr.I took a sesdion of 3 months first; I was completely at ease since the diet plan wasn’t something that required too much planning, it was the daily Indian food but tweaked a bit; ;I felt the difference in 3 months n later decided to extend it by another 3 months; I religiously followed the diet, exercised regularly; n felt lighter n more active;I needed to eat the right things at the right time which Dr Pradnya initiated;I yet follow the pattern of healthy eating along with exercises;I’ve got back into my old trousers; I am maintaining my weight between 56-57 kgs n keep fit; Dr Pradnya is always there at a phone call when I need n happily keep on recommending her; My only advice to all is - Follow her diligently n U will feel n see the difference!
Hi. My journey for weight loss goes back a few years and that is when I met Dt Pradnya Padhye on the recommendation of my acquaintances. She is very good at making you realise the importance of good health without being pushy. She knows very well that different people take different time to make the modifications and she is very patient when it comes to this. I have always involved exercise in my daily routine-one way or another, but recently I had observed that I was utterly failing in weight loss. I have never had major issues with my health ever and met Dt. Pradnya for better eating habits and good health. She is a fantastic diet consultant. The way of explanation about all issues like food, time, medical problem etc. is very thorough. I am a marathon runner. Despite of running and core workout, I was unable to reduce my weight which was around 75 and height (5,10'). My aim was to reduce waist size and weight. I tried many things to reduce my weight but all in vain. So decided to consult Balcal Nutrefy. I did a one month course and reduced more than 5kgs and waist by 2inches(that's unbelievable but yes I did it all). First week started with no oil intake and they actually educated me about what is balance diet (protein, fiber, carbohydrates). It was a built up for what's coming over next week weeks. Second and third week was more intense with sprouts, brown rice and soup playing a big roll. The hardest was the fourth week which was a full vegetable diet. It was intense but I never felt hungry. Diet plan was well devised that it was not exhausting at all. Throughout the month, I kept my workout regime same. Balcal kept in touch with me, solved my every doubts. I strongly believe only trick to reduce weight is to faithfully follow your diet plan and have self control on your craving. Thank you for amazing diet plan.
I heard about Pradnya through a friend and a lot of other common friends who had been to her before and about how amazing she is and how her counseling and nutrition tips had helped them .I was very impressed with her knowledge based approach and her scientific explanation about everything that we eat and put into our body.Also she was always accessible on the phone and WhatsApp because it was quite a travel for me to go see her often but she made sure I never skipped my counseling at the end of every week .That was the best part .Pradnya is super friendly and gives u diet solutions and tips to suit your daily routine and according to your specific body requirements .I went there for weight loss and other than losing 7 kgs within 3 months I gained a lot of confidence and loads of compliments from everyone around me .It is not magic and requires a lot of dedication but u also need the perfect guide ,counsellor to help you get there and keep you motivated and I don’t think there is anyone better than Pradnya and Balcal Nutrefy who can do that exact thing for you .I would highly recommend Balcal Nutrefy to anyone and everyone who needs to get their health body and mind back on track .
I chanced upon Pradnya's profile while searching for a dietician in Thane last year. With a known thyroid problem, I didn't think it was possible to control my weight. However, I had nothing to lose, so went ahead and contacted Pradnya. Since the first time I met her, there has been no looking back. She is extremely easy going and pleasant to talk to. Her plans are customized to my daily schedule and are quite easy to follow. She provides variety of options, so boredom doesn't set in.
