Dr. Riddhish K. Maru

My wife is a Paranoid schizophrenia patient and has a history of more than 10 yrs with 4 suicide attempts as-off now. And during this COVID-19 pandemic Lock-down her illness got more worsen since she had discontinued her medication long back.

She got more violent and use to shout and abuse everyone staying in our society. It became a very tough situation for me to control her everyday and only thing needed was to get her hospitalized and start her medicines.

I was very helpless since no hospital was ready to admit any new mental patients due to the lock-down restrictions around.

After struggling and trying every reference possible for more than a month my family doctor refereed me to Dr. Riddesh Maru who really helped me to take the necessary steps to get my wife hospitalized and to start her treatment.

I visited his clinic and explained him the whole drastic situation my wife was going through.Now she is under medication and slowly recovering.

Dr. Maru is a very friendly, experienced and a helpful person. He not only helped my wife to get out of the situation but stopped me getting panic.

My father had become forgetful. We thought it was because of his age. But soon he started getting suspicious and behaved abnormally. He had weird talks that no one would get. It was scary. The treatment is overall 3/5. But if you go for in person meet at Mulund clinic even when you have taken an appointment for a selected time slot, you would have to wait 1 hour for your turn. This has happened quite frequently with us. The appointments managed with time slots aren't that well.

I had booked an appointment. It started well in time. I have had prior appointments with Dr. Riddhish and whenever there is a change in schedule, he always takes the time and effort to directly inform me over phone which I appreciate a lot.

He explained me and my family very well about my illness which is recurrent & episodic. His approach is different, educates well, gives options to patient too.

Now I know how to handle my emotions well, family members know how to behave with me which is decreasing chances of triggering my illness.
