The T-cell kinase ZAP70 is anomalously expressed in the more aggressive, pre-germinal center subset of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia and small lymphocytic lymphoma. Expression of ZAP70 by immunohistochemistry is well-correlated with overexpression of ZAP70 by transcript analysis or immunohistochemistry.
