CD2 is a pan T-cell antigen, expressed on normal and neoplastic T cells and natural killer cells. In normal tonsil, the T cells predominate in interfollicular regions. CD2 immunostaining is useful in determining T-cell lineage in cases of T-cell lymphoma.
