Hip Surgery
his interest in this field began during my work at Norwich with Mr Hugh Phillips and Mr J K Tucker the pioneers of the Norwich hip system. This gained a tremendous impetus during my tenure with Mr T F Stoyle. It was at this time that he collected data and worked on his thesis. This gave him an insight into the problems of the adult hip, hip replacements and revision hip surgery.
Knee Surgery
his earlier and current involvement with Mr M L Harding, President of the British Knee / Society, helped him gain experience in the diagnostic and operative management of most of the knee disorders.
Poliomyelitis
During his training in India he was also involved in the management of the problems of deformities, muscle imbalance and joint instability in the post polio paralytic phase both in the pediatric and adult age groups.
