While in dental school, he received multiple honors and served as National Editor for the American Student Dental Association. Dr. Lee then moved to the Bay Area, completing his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Highland – UCSF, where he trained in dental implants, wisdom tooth surgery, anesthesia, jaw surgery, and facial trauma.
