Areas of Expertise :Dr Zena Lim is a US fellowship-trained Consultant Ophthalmologist and Adult & Paediatric Eye Surgeon. Her inspiration to take up the field of ophthalmology stems from two things: her motivation to lead people out of the frightening situation of potential vision loss and her fascination for the mechanisms of the eye's delicate features. With over 15 years of experience, Dr Zena Lim currently serves as the Medical Director of the Focal Eye Centre and Co-Director of The Children’s Eye & ENT Centre. In the field of ophthalmology, she's especially interested in customized small-incision cataract surgery; and squint (eye misalignment) surgery for adults and children, as, according to her, it not only therapeutically corrects eye alignment among other benefits, but also tremendously improves one's self-esteem and psychological well-being.Her other areas of expertise include glaucoma lasers and surgery, droopy eyelid/inturned eyelid correction, surgical correction of tearing (syringing and probing of nasolacrimal duct), retinal lasers and injections for various retinal problems, and all aspects of paediatric ophthalmology.EDUCATION, TRAINING AND CAREER HIGHLIGHTSDr Zena Lim embarked on her medical training with the National University of Singapore in 1995, followed by her residency training in Ophthalmology at the Singapore National Eye Centre.
