From the inception of her career, Dr. Rahim practised as a specialist Psychiatrist at the Al Ain Hospital Behavioural Sciences Institute, Al Ain, UAE, a government entity under SEHA. It’s a tertiary level multi-speciality, teaching hospital where the psychiatry department had its own Residency programme. She had the privilege of educating and mentoring Psychiatry residents, including medical undergraduates and interns. After over two decades of dealing with outpatients and inpatients of various ethnicities and cultural backgrounds, she relocated to Dubai to work with Medcare.
Dr. Rahim is a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in diagnosing and treating a comprehensive spectrum of mental health disorders affecting adults. Her passion is to deliver high-quality, culturally aware care, to enhance the well-being of her patients. She is an expert at managing and treating depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, Bipolar affective disorders, Schizophrenia, delusional disorders and other psychotic disorders. She has successfully treated Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and adolescent disorders from 14 years of age. She uses ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) and pre-operative psychiatric assessment as part of her treatment plan.
