I consulted Dr. Shruti Maheshwary in my 29th week of pregnancy when my blood sugar levels were consistently on the higher side. Despite trying various diets and lifestyle changes, I wasn’t seeing much improvement. From our very first consultation, I could tell that she had a deep understanding of how nutrition impacts blood sugar regulation and overall metabolic health.
She thoroughly reviewed my medical history, past sugar readings, eating habits, and daily routine before designing a personalized diet plan. She asked me what all things I eat and created a diet plan including the things I like/eat. She focused on balanced nutrition, portion control, and food combinations that is sufficient for baby's growth and at the same time keeps my sugar level under control.
She asked me to share readings after every diet so that she could know what is working for me and what's not. Even when I missed sharing readings, she would proactively ask me for it. Within just a few weeks, I started noticing a visible improvement in my sugar levels and what was noticeable was that my weight remained stagnant while fetal weight increased in a healthy way. Regular follow-ups and small tweaks to the plan helped maintain progress.
I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for professional and results-driven nutrition guidance, especially for diabetes management and weight management.

I already had one late miscarriage (in 23rd week) with the stillbirth of a baby due to a water(Amniotic fluid) leak last year.
It is my second pregnancy. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes this time in the week of 23rd of my pregnancy.
So, I started following a diet, walking routine after every meal, and taking insulin (8-8-8 / 24 units daily).
My fasting sugar was not under control even for a single day.
The growth scan reports were not good; the baby’s weight was 500 gm+ than the normal range, and the amniotic fluid range was higher than the max limit. Due to all of this, I was feeling tummy tightness and stretching. It was not even comfortable to walk.
As per reports, my gynaecologist suggested I should take insulin of 30 units/day(10-10-10). Dr also predicted that I could have chances of early delivery this time too because AFI was on than higher side and the baby’s growth was 31/32 weeks in 29 weeks.
Then, I met Dr. Shruti Mam for the first time. At that time, I was 30 weeks pregnant. First of all, I would like to tell you she is a very kind person. We discussed a new diet plan with fewer insulin units. And me and my family were surprised with the result. All sugar counts were under control even fasting too with lesser insulin doses(6-6-6).
Today, I’m running in 35th week. As per my Dr Now I’m safe to deliver a baby. I’m taking insulin as 3-4-4. My last scan reports were much better than earlier. I can walk more than 10K steps daily without tummy tightness, stretching and heartburn. My diet is so balanced, that I never felt low on energy.
But to gain this happiness and satisfaction, I had compromised a lot. My sugar intake is 0%. I often crave sweets, but They should be limited to my mind only. Now it seems like, I had forgotten about pregnancy cravings. I had never broken a diet plan, not for a single time. whenever I went to the hospital, I carried all my diet stuff with me and followed meal timings properly. Sometimes, I feel too tired to walk, but I still have to because I don’t want any of my sugar count to get out of normal range. Sometimes, I feel like not walking a single step, but I must walk at least 2K steps after every meal.
The most important part I must mention here is, throughout this journey, the only person who is taking care of me, supporting me, being with me all the time, and reminding me of my medicine, and injections is my husband.
I’m so thankful to Dr Shruti Mam, my gynaecologist, Dr Chinmay sir and my husband.

Before I met Shruti maam, I was a 21-year-old 103 kg male individual who had absolutely no regard for proper eating, exercising and a healthy lifestyle. I was pursuing my Chartered Accountancy degree, and was always caught up with office on weekdays and studies on the weekend. Apart from the occasional footy 2-3 times a month, I never really had any inclination towards any physical activity. Whenever I was asked about getting it shape, I always used to blame my routine or defer it to my to-do list post my examination. Amidst all of my ignorance, I slowly realized the extreme changes in me – I was always tired, lethargic, exhausted and never in the mood to actively pursue anything. I did not have the energy to study with a fresh mind and on the inside, I could sense somehow all of this had to change. I was in my preparatory leave for my CA exams, when the pandemic hit and my exams got postponed. Because of the additional time I had, I figured it is better to work on this goal, and keep myself busy, rather than spend time in other activities.I was introduced to Shruti maam by a friend of mine who told me how her diets are and how she is personally invested in each of the client’s progress. What stood out to me most was that she wanted us to first put in some effort before coming to her for consultation. This shows that you are not just any client for her. She considers you one of her owns. Throughout our sessions, she always made sure that I was putting in the required amount of efforts. Any new goals were set only after achieving the existing ones. There was never a situation when I felt I had bitten off more than I could chew. I had my first consultation with maam on 8th May 2020, where I weighed 103 kilos. Absolutely nervous, it was her who made it clear to me that this was a Herculean task, and that only I could get that task done. This helped me a lot because I was not promised anything unrealistic, but rather a clear and precise roadmap of all that was expected of me. We had a 2 hour Zoom call, where maam spoke to me and my family, asked me about my daily food intake, told me what needs to be added and reduced, and ultimately what my targets were. I had a total of 5 consultations with targets to be achieved over 15 days that had different types of exercises, regulated meal times, controlled portions of eating food and sleep patterns. A notable thing which stands out in the diet plan is an emphasis on eating locally sourced food indigenous to our region and not imported food or additional supplements. This helped in reaffirming a belief in what maam had told me, because she told me something different to the trend these days that focuses on supplements or imported food for weight loss. Over the next 2 and a half months, I stuck to what maam had told me to do – regular exercise, controlled portions of food, regulated eating and sleeping – pushing myself to new limits each day. It was not at all easy. The first week was extremely tiring and exhausting as my body had not yet adapted to such a change. I also remember having to seek out new exercises to do at home because of the lockdown. Amidst all this, I distinctly remember how prompt maam was in supporting me and addressing any concerns that I had. Even when things were too hard, she always made sure that I was being made aware about why I am doing this. Gradually, the results started coming in – old clothes banished for being tight started fitting perfectly, an inclination for being active was created, eating was never out of control. I checked my weight a couple of days before my 22nd birthday in July and the unimaginable had happened – I weighed 83 kilos! A loss of 20 kilograms taught me a lot of things, but the key takeaway from it was consistency. I learnt over the tenure of the program that progression is better than perfection. Not exercising to my full potential on an odd day was okay, but not exercising at all was unacceptable. Having cheat meals after completion of targets was rewarding, but not doing what has been told is unacceptable. Trust the process and keep pushing. Finally, focusing on your own health and well-being is the best investment you can make for yourself. Exercising is the most underrated form of therapy, with eating food being the most overrated. Once that learning is imbibed in you, staying healthy is inevitable and exciting. In the words of Shruti maam herself, her aim is not to make me dependent on her consultation, but to make me an independent dietician for myself. I can confidently say that she has been successful in her endeavor, and I would urge anyone who wants to make change happen in their well-being to consult Shruti maam. Good luck!

I consulted Ms. Shruti Maheshwary mam for my Type 2 Diabetes, when my sugar levels were high and I was taking two diebetic medicines twice daily.
She created a personalized and easy-to-follow diet plan based on my lifestyle and medical needs.
Within just 45 days, I lost 7 kg and my blood sugar levels came under control.
Because of this progress, my diabetes medicines were reduced significantly in a short time.
I also feel much more energetic throughout the day and no longer experience frequent fatigue.
Her guidance is very practical, and she explains everything clearly which makes it easy to stay motivated.
She is extremely friendly, supportive, and always quick to respond to any questions or doubts.
This experience has completely changed my approach towards food and health.
I am truly grateful for her support and highly recommend her to anyone dealing with diabetes or weight issues.

She was kind enough to design my meal plan allingning to my gdm readings while being considerate towards my tastes and preference. She was just a click or call away most of the times and at times when the readings were high, making me depressed she always heard rather than judging and slowly suggests alternatives to be cautious next time. From a stage where I was not at all confident in this process and to proactively thinking ways to blunt down the spikes or plan for day meals without hassle have happened because of her constant support. This is what makes her stand out from others proving dieticians role doesn't end at meal planning.
Worth of every penny we pay for her service.
Constant monitoring and feedback on readings on daily basis, suggesting alternatives, swift suggestions and changes in the meal plans if readings go high, above all these being available when needed and extending emotional support.....

I am a scientific editor and my job mostly involves a sedentary lifestyle. During my PhD tenure, I gained a significant amount of weight due to stress (76kg). Over the course of almost 3 months, I have come down to 66kg. Dr. Maheshwari helped me with diet plans that were successive in nature to help me adapt to a healthier lifestyle. Her plans were nothing too unachievable but rather some modifications in my behaviour to achieve a target weight. It also helped since I come from a very disciplined and a demanding research background.
To start of, Dr. Maheshwari suggested that I eat dinner early, limit my carb intake and move. Which I followed and started to see results. The next routine included more workouts and a changed diet. Slowly and steadily, my portion size reduced. I feel that, that particular change was the most prominent feature for me to lose weight. As a bangali, we love food and we like to eat a lot of it. But with portion control and exercise, one can control one's health.
I do have a long way to go but Dr. Maheshwari's plans have been very useful indeed where the results have spoken for themselves.
Also, I'd like to add that I was taking my BP medication which was stamlo 5mg everyday. But the weight loss exercise helped me to reduce my medication to 2.5mg everyday, then 2.5mg every alternate days and now just twice a week. The reduction of the dosage was recommended by my specialist who was impressed with my bp levels and the weight loss. PS: I will strongly recommend consulting your physician/internal medicine specialist/doctor before you change your BP medication.

I would like to recommend Dr Shruti for pregnancy diet counseling. I was with Dr Shruti during my journey of conceiving till delivering a healthy baby girl. She suggested a diet during my conceiving journey in such a way that I was able to lose weight (around 2-3 kgs as I had normal BMI) without disturbing any body parameters and was able to conceive successfully within two months only. She also suggested exercise regimes during that journey.
So I decided to consult her during my entire pregnancy.
I was diagnosed with border line GD during the second trimester but I was able to control it just by her diet.
I gained healthy weight around 9kg during my pregnancy journey without additional body fat. I am able to successfully lose around 7kg right after delivery.
Dr Shruti is really friendly and explains everything in detail. She always suggests diets considering your choices/preferences. She was also available over WhatsApp to answer my queries.
The most important thing I would like to mention is that I was so active during my 9 months 9 days journey of pregnancy ( although I am Vegetarian and I had milk aversion during pregnancy) but did not feel weakness at any point of time. I was able to do prenatal yoga( morning) and 45 min walk (evening) till the day of my delivery. My family members were amazed and they really appreciate Dr Shruti.
We are really thankful to Dr Shruti for making my pregnancy journey really enjoyable. As she says, We have started believing that "Food is Medicine".
I have already recommended her to my friends and family.
Thank you So much!!!

The journey of letting goFor many mothers, losing post pregnancy weight is always an issue. Twenty two years ago, I was blessed with a son and the weight I had gained then, I was carrying until now. A chance meeting with Ms Maheshwary got me started on my journey inwards. All the diets I had tried before got me to ‘lose’ weight. But somehow, this lost weight found its way back to me. This time, I did not lose weight. I willingly let it go. Ms Maheshwary delved deep into my personal, physical and psychological history. No one had ever done that and I doubt anyone does. When I had met her, I was going to a gym. To my surprise, she told me ‘You don’t need a gym. Use your own weight to tackle itself’It would be wrong to call her eating plans as ‘diet’. In the course of the past 3-4 months, Ms Maheshwary taught me to eat properly and proportionately, while enjoying it. I did not have to go out of my way to get something exotic or unaffordable. As the numbers on the weight scale started to reduce, I got more motivation to march ahead. Of course I had my moments when I felt like giving up. But she was always one phone call away and ready with a pep talk to pull me through. Until now I never liked exercise one bit. But now I look forward to exercising every day and start my day on a positive note. The past three months have been life changing for me mentally and physically. I have realized that, the only tough thing about this process was deciding to start with it. Ms Maheswary’s holistic attitude and her vision for me (and her clients) are rare to find these days. Her philosophy towards eating is worth adopting for your lifetime!

In 3rd trimester of my pregnancy I got diagnosed with Diabetes. I tried all ways by myself but wasn’t able to bring my sugar levels in control. I had never eaten unhealthy- neither in my pregnancy nor before.
My doctor suggested to take suggestion from Nutritionist Dr. Shruti. Dr. Shruti worked so closely with me not just giving me diet but keeping eye on every bite going in my body. We did best with the diet and reduced sugar levels but still it was little more up than normal. She then helped me improve on my stress & sleep. She also gave me suggestions on how to crosscheck my glucometer and also suggested me to use CGM. She also guided me with smart body movements. And eventually after continuous efforts of 2 weeks I got my sugar levels back in range.
I believe no one except Dr. Shruti could have done this for me. I loved her dialogue “if you were not pregnant I would have easily brought your sugar normal, but we have to do it without impacting the growth of baby”.
Thanks mam, my love & respect to you *** **** ***** ******** not just from my side but from my baby as well.

I can’t thank Ms. Shruti enough for her incredible support during my pregnancy. After being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I was diligent about monitoring my blood sugar—taking four readings daily—and avoided sugar, jaggery, rice, potatoes, and packaged foods. Despite these efforts, my sugar levels remained stubbornly high, and my doctor warned me about the serious implications for my baby’s health.
Already on insulin, I turned to Ms. Shruti for guidance. Amazingly, within just three days, she helped bring my sugar levels back to normal. She closely monitored my readings each day, adjusting my diet as needed. It’s incredible how our bodies can behave differently during pregnancy; even with a healthy diet, my sugars were high. Ms. Shruti’s expertise was instrumental in navigating this challenge.
She also guided my husband on how to support me, helping to reduce my stress and adhere to the diet plan. Without her guidance, he wouldn’t have known how to assist effectively.
Thanks to her support, I vaginally delivered a full-term healthy baby girl at 39 weeks. The doctors monitored her blood sugar for two days after birth, and all readings were normal. We were released on the third day.
Working with Ms. Shruti was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend her services. She is truly a gem of a person.
