Dr. Shailesh Hadgaonkar

I visited Dr. Shailesh Hadgaonkar at Aundh clinic in early Dec'18. I used to get low back pain every year with severity of pain increasing with each passing year. This year the pain was severe in the back which further radiated to my legs and upon checking MRI reports doctor did confirm a need for surgical intervention and very well explained why the surgery is needed.

Accordingly I got admitted in Sancheti hospital and I was operated for micro discectomy and laminectomy (there was a fracture identified in the spine) with need for implants. If in one word I have to describe the treatment and post operative care by Dr. Shailesh and his team - its EXCELLENT. The doctor and his team were in constant touch with me to ensure that I recover as planned answering all my pre and post operation queries patiently.

I would like to once again thank Dr. Shailesh, Dr. Sai Krishna, Dr. Amup, and Dr. Pramod for their excellent medical treatment and post operative care and support all through the process of recovery.

We are extremely happy after the spine surgery for fracture in my father's spine. We are thankful to Shailesh Sir and his team for building confidence to my father. My father's age is 82 years. He told us initially that he wouldn't go for any surgery even if Lord Brahmha tells him. It was surprised for us when he came back at home from Sancheti hospital after consultation with Doctor Shailesh Hadgaonkar and told us that he would like to go for surgery as soon as possible. My sister asked him whom did he mate more powerful than a Lord Brahmha. My father were wearing a smile in that tensed situation also. Jokes apart I just want to mention Doctor Shailesh Hadgaonkar's consultation was so powerful. It was just not the consultation but whatever it was discussed in that consulting room Shailesh Sir was so prepared with all the specialist doctors at the time of operation. It was really tough time for him also where it took more than five hours he was operating. Shailesh Sir didn't forget to come out in between and told us not to worry; everything was under control. All staff of Shailesh Sir is very caring except OPD staff is not that supportive. However management of Sancheti hospital definitely consider your feedback and tries to improve upon your suggestions. Shailesh Sir himself take care of your budget and suggest you a good option via his administrative Manager. Note that it doesn't mean they negotiate. Dr Sai , Dr Jay, Dr Sachin, his lady managers (Sorry I forgot names) are very good team. My father is completely fine now after his spinal surgery. He had terrible pains for 3-4 months before surgery and had no hope he would be diagnosed properly. Thank you Dr Hadgaonkar sir for giving him new life. Very good experience on each follow up after surgery. Shailesh Sir gives good time, explains well, completely satisfied with his spine knowledge, humbleness & care. I recommend shailesh sir for spine treatment to all who has such issues.

Medicines can cure, but a good doctor’s inspirational words can give the strength to fight from within. Many of your patients have recommended you as more than a good doctor, I value the fact that you were a good listener too. More than being just professionals, I value the fact that your staff’s attitude was exceptional. But I am going one step further to also to recommend you as a great human being and same as your team. To name few Dr. Ashish Yadav, Dr. Vijay K and Dr. Piyush are exceptional. A big Thanks to you and your team.

The very thought of hospitalization is scary and traumatizing. But caring doctors like you make it friendly and pleasing. Thanks for your effective analysis and diagnosis. Else, my mother would never have been able to continue living a life of bliss. Thanks for doing just that.

A word to all reader of this post my mother (Mrs. Aparna Modak 60yrs old) had a sever low back pain radiating to bilateral lower limb with tingling numbness and difficult in walking for past many years. Dr. Shailesh Hadgaonkar and his team has treated her L3 to S1 Laminectomy with Discectomy surgery done on date 29th Aug 2018. Thereafter 6 days of hospitalization and my mother started walking on her own and she is pain free now. I pray for everyone not to undergo this kind of trauma but unfortunately if you have this, please visit Sancheti Hospital and meet Dr. Shailesh Hadgaonkar and you can very well trust his treatment and live life happily forever.

I was suffering slipped disc from last 2 years. The pain was unbearable even I was not able to sit more then 10-15 mins. I consulted with Dr. Shailesh Hadgaonkar. After MRI and X ray report, it was diagnosed L4-5 prolapsed intervertebral disc with right lower limb radiculopathy. Doctor suggested the Microscopic Discetomy L4-L5+Lumbar Decompression and he explained about surgery in detailed. And my surgery was done 2 months before on 16 August 2021. I was able to walk very next day and now I don't have any issues. Completely cured.

We expected that after such a long journey of 430 Kms, Doc will give us attention to what my wife's issue was, but instead he was in a hurry and was busy with his staff problems, he just saw my wife's MRI (Only One) and did the diagns. The time he gave was not more than 3 minutes. The doctor and his assistant didn't even ask us to sit on the empty chairs, such was the courtesy shown. His assistant penned down the prescription and we left... Amazed that such a big institution has no feelings for Patient Care. The only bright side was the people who were working at the Counter and administration. They were very very supportive. i thank them from the bottom of my heart.

I have visited Dr. Hadgaonkar two-times for L2 and L3 process fracture treatment. I was diagnosed with the fracture in the month of October. In the second visit after the injury (first visit to Doctor Hadgaonkar) doctor had asked me to continue with previous medicines. In the 2nd visit, doctor has advised me to start physiotherapy sessions without recommending me to get an x-ray done (I had lost my first x-ray). Even when I insisted to get the x-ray done, Doctor replied that we will directly get the MRI done and for now I can start with my physiotherapy sessions.

I was not convinced and hence decided to get the second opinion in this case and visited another doctor after 15 days. ** *** ***** ** ** *** *** ***** ***** *** * **** ** *** ***** *** **** ** **** **** *** ******** *** *** ****** ********** *** **** ** *** *** *** ***** **** ** ***** *** ****** ********* ** ******* ** ** **** **** **** **** ** ** *** **** *** ******** ****** ** *** ***** **** ******* ** **** **** ***** ** *** * **** ******** **** * ******* ******* *** ******** ** ** ***** **** ********* ** *** ******** *** *** ********** *******

The time given was 6.30. we reached at 6.15. The doctor arrived at 7.35. it was a wait time of 1 hour plus without explanation of where he is or how much should we wait. The doctor has extensively worked in UK where I am sure such delays wouldn't be acceptable. At least he should have the courtesy to express apologies to the waiting painful patients.

On the treatment and explanation offered by him - he spent minimal time with us and asked us to get nerve root block done immediately. I asked for conservative options as nerve blocks are not predictable option and I wanted to check if conservative line of treatment can solve. But he was recommending root block. He asked to get three x rays done. Glancing at it for a fraction of second he said I have a spine fracture.

Next day I visited another doctor for second opinion *** **** ****** *** ************* ****** * ***** **** * ******** *** * ********** ****** ** ****** Also the other doctor said nerve root block has most unpredictable results and I should not do it. For surgery which is only correct remedy to my condition - he said you can do physiotherapy first, do normal exercises, lose weight and mostly it will help. Come for surgery only if you can't bear the pain. He left that up to my judgement whether I can carry out normal life for 1, 2, 5 or 10 years. ****** ** *** *********** So I would not recommend to go to Dr Hadgaonkar *** ******** ***** *** ** ***** **** *** ******** *** ************ ********
