Hi all, My name is Keshaw Pawan and i am working as AGM in Idea Cellular.

I came to aditya birla hospital looking for treatment of post menopause bleeding for my sister who is 52 years old. Operating on my sister was critical and high risk as she is suffering through high BP, obesity, Harnia, L2 compressed fracture, pelvic bone fracture history and what not.

We met few surgeons and Gaynac in the town who were ready to do hysterectomy without much of investigations, basically on their gut feeling. In fact one of the finest surgeon was so over confident that he planned the surgery without even having a physical look on my sister. He just did Pap smear test to ensure if its Cervix cancer or not and decided for hysterectomy. Pap smear doesnot give any clue of uterous cancer.

In dilemma we reached Aditya Birla Hospital and met Dr. Nikhil Parwate. The very first thing happened was we got rid of panic within few minutes of meeting him. The positive energy and his enthusiastic attitude gave us relief.

Dr. Nikhil has a very positive outlook and discuss the case with patient and relatives in such a way that we all knew what is the cause, situation, procudures, risk, and end results alomost everything related to hysterectomy and oncology. in a meeting of 45 mins we were all prepared without any fear.

He first did DNC in which the result came out to be Pre cancerous uterous. He adviced surgery asap cause the test doesnt tell you since how long that Pre stage is there and how soon it will convert into frank cancer.

We scheduled surgery in next few days. We were all worried at heart about if this high risk operation will be successful and about the recovery. Dr. Nikhik took it slow and steady and prepared my sisters body for operation. He out of the way took all responsibility on his shoulders. Getting in detail discussion with Physician, anesthetic, Harnia specialist, Cardiologist to ensure safe procudures and steady recovery.

His step by step thinking and careful and innovative methods really made me impressed. I am technical person and it really inspired me. Over and above that my sister suffers through anxiety and she is very emotional. Dr. Nikhil gave her so much positivity and strength that she was all good during entire procudure.

Due to pre cancer stage. It was a 3 hours surgery. Uterous, falopine tubes, ovaries and lymph nodes was removed. and we were relived from hospital within 3 days post surgey.

its one month now and my sister is all set for a new life.

I am from Jamshedpur and for my job I have been staying in Pune for a year now. My parents were visiting Pune to meet me in the month of June. Meanwhile all of a sudden my mother started bleeding after almost 10 years of her menopause. She had no such prior episodes of bleeding after her menopause in 2009. We were all worried because of this and immediately consulted a gynecologist for this (Dr. Seema Shedge). She did all the initial tests and sonography and suggested to go for DNC procedure. She explained us the reason for the bleeding to start again and also informed us that after the procedure, the sample will be sent to the lab for biopsy. After the visit, we gathered all possible information about the procedure that was advised to be performed on my mother and didn't delay it any further. In the same week, the procedure was performed and after 7-10 days the reports came hinting at a malignant tumour in the uterus. She suggested us that a bigger surgery needs to be done without much delay and referred us to Dr. Nikhil Parwate.

We didn't delay the process and visited Dr. Nikhil in Aditya Birla Hospital. We were very tensed and worried. My mother had never required to visit a hospital in her life and she is extremely scared of such an environment and to top it the reports suggested cancer. Our family was in a very bad state of mind and at that time we met Dr. Nikhil Parwate.

He didn't read the files and reports directly at first but rather asked my Mom to tell him everything. My Mom explained him everything that had happened till date and he patiently heard the entire thing. Only after that he looked at the reports. Then he explained us the reason for doing that- the reason being only the patient can explain his/her troubles perfectly hence the reports came 2nd. He explained us everything about the current condition of Mom, what needs to be done, how will the surgery be performed. His calming presence and positive energetic attitude lifted our spirits and we again had hope on our side. He told us all the possible reasons why this condition arises and what are the positive points in my mother's case (no BP, no sugar, no obesity, no other medical conditions).

He answered all our queries and encouraged us to ask questions if any and clear all doubts that might be in our head. We did not delay any more and immediately scheduled the surgery the day after. He guided us through the entire patient admission procedure as well along with the surgery procedure and post surgery details. The surgery went for almost 4-4.5 hours and by God's grace and the brilliant surgical team on our case, it wet well. My mother was kept in the CCU for constant monitoring the next day and then was shifted to the room. Dr. Nikhil made sure he checked Mom's vitals and her case updates everyday and came to visit us to see the recovery status.

He helped us in every point of the way- even in her physiotherapy post surgery and he was the constant source of motivation and positivity that is the most required thing in such times. After the surgery the path lab reports were supposed to come back in 10 days. My mother was discharged from the hospital in 4-5 days after the surgery. Even after discharge, Dr. Nikhil made sure to take updates on her recovery from time to time.

My Mother's reports came back and it showed very early onset of endometrial cancer. As everything was surgically removed- uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, lymph nodes, and oomentum- and no spread of cancer was found in any of those places; no further radiation or chemo was suggested. Still for a 2nd opinion Dr. Nikhil suggested me to take the opinion of the Radiation head of Aditya Birla Hospital- Cancer wing. I did the same and the doctor didn't recommend radiation to us.

My mother is doing well now and has been asked to come back again for a follow-up check-up in 3 months time. In this entire experience that my family had to go through, I would want to share 3 major things with all those people who might be going through such an experience in their lives.

1. Instead of hopping from one doctor to another aimlessly and delaying the further treatment process, I would suggest that kindly take an informed decision. Educate yourself about what is the issue and ask the right questions to your doctor.

2. Am not telling anyone to blindly trust any doctor, but one needs to put their faith in someone. For us it was Dr. Nikhil Parwate and we were blessed to have him. But as I mentioned, work along with your doctor in this journey of the treatment and the post-surgery period.

3. In any such case, I would request everyone to never delay the treatment because of any reason. Many a times because of fear, hopping doctor to doctor, listening to 1000 suggestions from our relatives; we end up delaying the actual treatment. That's the one thing we never did in my Mother's case. Make an informed decision and soon.

A month back, on 02/02/2019, my mother was continuously vomiting and had sever/unbearable abdominal pain. My father and other family members decided to consult our family doctor( Dr. Rahul Deo - Gynaecologists). He immediately conducted sonography and found out that there is some kind liquid formation in her abdominal. He advised my father and other family members to rush to Aditya Birla Hospital without any delay. Since my mother was suffering from sever pain, he gave her injection for immediate relief. Dr. Rahul provided his reference letter and within no time mom was rushed to Aditya Birla Hospital. She was admitted immediately and they started investigating her with several tests. In no time they found that the fluid is formed in her abdominal. Before proceeding with any treatment, they wanted to ensure from where the fluid is getting formed and what could be reason for the formation. The very next day they scheduled mom for CT Scan. Which was prolonged process since it was not easy to get the clear picture with just one scan. Mom was very cooperative and bold and she very well obeyed to the instructions. In the final CT scan, they had confirmed that there is a fluid formation and it was forming from overies and has to be removed immediately. They removed a sample of fluid to send for further testing. This case was now handed over to Dr. Nikhil, as he is the gynecologist and oncology specialist. As per his advise, the fluid was send for testing and also two blood test pertaining to cancer was taken. The results weren’t great, my mother was diagnosed with ovarian tumor which was cancerious. Mom was not informed about any of this and we followed doctor’s advise. Mom is diabetic patient and hence, extra care was needed to be taken. Without any further delay the Dr. Nikhil advised all of us that they are planning to head for operation, as mom’s BP and Sugar levels are under control. We all agreed to his advise and mom was briefed about the operations. My mom was briefed saying that the ovaries and uterus needs to be removed since they found growth inside. She was extremely bold and positive, she cleared all her anxiety and doubts with the doctor and Dr. Nikhil ensured to take full care of everything. Indeed, god send him to our life at the right time. This is when I was also briefed about my mom’s operation. Dr. Nikhil took time out of his busy schedule to contact me( since, I stay abroad) and explained me everything and gave me the assurance that everything will be taken care from his side and he said a team of specialist will be performing the operation and everything would be fine. With this assurance and with an heavy heart I stayed back in abroad. The next day, operation went successful, however, Dr. Nikhil informed us that sample is been send for biopsy to check if it is spread to any other parts of the body and reports would take 15 days and then would decide on the chemo therapy. Slowly, mom started recovering. Her willpower and faith in god, helped her to recover and get discharged soon. Soon the time came for the reports, we all were praying and hoping for miracle. Mom went to hospital for her stitch removal and Dr. Nikhil gave this wonderful news to us that all her reports are normal and he expressed that this is no less than a miracle. Since, 90 percent of the cases the reports turn out to be positive and very rarely it shows all normal and negative. Doctor, even send it to Tata for second opinion and results were borderline tumor and she is out of danger. Dr. Nikhil motivated my mom and encouraged her to get back to routine by teaching her natural healing methods. It is due to god’s grace, family prayers, mom’s willpower and Dr. Nikhil’s confidence and efforts, today my mom is recovering and getting back to routine. She will be kept under monitor for a year. My mom is not aware of the whole incidents and she has not seen her reports. However, her faith and trust In god and doctor, resulted in this miracle. Trusting your doctor and having faith in god is the key. I have no words to express my gratitude to Dr. Nikhil and Dr. Rahul for their efforts, support and guidance. I visited the doctor on recommendation of Dr Seema Jain, who is also a very good gynecologist at Aditya Birla hospital, Pune. My wife 'Sadhna Sinha' was suffering from Level 3 Uterus cancer. He understood our problem in one go and clarified all our doubts. I found him very down to earth, person who realize that as patient we are worried about the situation and he explained in cool and calm way and didn't use any unruly doctor jargons to complicate the understanding of my issue. Initially my wife was scared and very nervous about how well she would be treated, but doctor's kind word boosted her confidence. It was a pleasant experience for me and my family as we weren't worried about anything because of how professionally everything was handled by Dr Nihil S Parwate.
