He received post graduate training in ENT under Dr. Milind V. Kirtane, a world renowned ENT surgeon & pioneer in cochlear implantation & functional endoscopic sinus surgeries in India. on completion of his training, he was awarded the degree of Master of Surgery (Otolaryngology) by University of Mumbai, and Diplomate Of National Board by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. After post graduation, he bacame Registrar under Dr. S. B. Ogale, an authority in Stapedotomy & transcanal facial nerve procedures. Dr. Kumar also has the distinction of being a Registrar at AJB Municipal ENT Hospital, Mumbai (a first of its kind ENT hospital in India founded by legendary ENT surgeon late Dr. L. H. Hiranandani).
A keen academician, he has various publications in national & international journals. He is a distinguished member of the national academy of medical sciences. After clearing United States Medical Licensing Exam & having been certified by Educational commission for Foreign Medical Graduate, Dr. Kumar went to USA for higher training in Otology & Neurotology.
A recipient of Dr. R. A. F Cooper award & Dr. Joe D' Sa award, he is not only a surgeon with academic leaning but also a doctor who feels for underprivileged. For his exemplary work in the underprivileged areas of the country, he was honored by the Impact India Foundation, and the government of Chhatisgarh.
