Pulmonologist i.e. chest & lung specialist par excellence. But, more significantly a doctor with compassion & rare ability to give care to the caregivers. And, that in the culture where doctors want to behave like Gods and are condescending towards the patients & their relatives. My 86 year old, sprightly father was laid low by a massive corona virus attack and was discharged from ‘a’ hospital(not Cheema..) after a month (2 weeks in ICU) on 20th November. Prognosis was that he will likely require long term, continuous, oxygen support as the lungs have taken serious beating as he is old and has a history of diabetes & hypertension. We contacted Dr. Robin Gupta who gave our desperate family hope & reassurance while fine tuning the treatment and now my father is on his way to recovery, albeit slowly, and is weaned off external O2 support too. We pray for my father's recovery & for increase in the ilk of such doctors who are always accessible and comforting!
