Thereafter after the internship of six months in All India Medical Institute (AIIMS), she joined Indraprastha Apollo Hospital as a junior Dietitian. With her strong determination to be successful in her field, she constantly worked towards her goal. In the year 2008, she has cleared an exam conducted by HOPE project (United States) and was selected as one of the Master Trainer for Diabetic Education, where she trained and educated other health care professionals about diabetes. She was also offered an honorary membership of LIA (Lipid Association of India).
To recognize her efforts and hard work, the Management of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital promoted her as the “Head of the Department”. As the Head of the department, she created and sustained a dynamic environment among her group of dieticians that fosters development opportunities and motivated high performance among her team members. This was again recognized among the group level of 54 Apollo hospitals where she managed to won first prize for her department under the topic,”Best Nutritional Practices”.
Meanwhile, on sponsorship, she was sent to Birmingham Children Hospital United Kingdom by the group Medical Director Dr. Anupam Sibal. There she got a change to work with international team of dieticians to get a specialisation in “Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Child Nutrition”.
Deepika Aggarwal Katyal during her tenure at Apollo has written several articles in newspapers and magazines on food and health. She has also written books on Celiac disease, Breastfeeding to Weaning, Tips for Good Health, Nutrition for liver Transplant Patient and many more. She was also the member of organising team in conducting Nutritional International conferences.
Also lot of her publications and researchers has been published in International Journals.
In the year 2014 she resigned from her post due to her family responsibilities and to take care of her New Born. Although it was a very difficult decision but ultimately she gives up her blooming career to look after her child.
However as rightly said that,”Good Work Should Never Goes Unrecognised” and by God grace she got lot of good opportunities to work from home. She is now working as a “Sports Nutritionist” where she provides online consultation to athletes and other eminent players who will be playing for 2016 Olympiad. She is also writing sports related articles for a private fitness company.
Besides this she is working as a consultant dietician with a prominent online Telemedicine company and assists them with their web portal and therapeutic diet planning.
