Hello everyone, my name is Yash, I'm 18 years old and lately i was dealing with Post Traumatic Stress, low self esteem, low confidence, insecurities about my body and social anxiety and at some point i even began thinking about suicide,but i was too scared to take a step and do it coz i know it will cause too much pain to my loved ones and i didnt wanted to see them in agony and despair . So i deicide to practice self love & to overcome my traumatizing childhood and i started trying to figure out the way to heal myself and become a confident person on which muma papa would be proud of. I never talk about my Past, i always kept it secret, i never share it with my parents nor with my close friends coz i was afaird of being judged i though i have to take this secret to my grave but it become diffecult for me to move on from these things ,i realised that i have to speak about those issues in order to move on from it . i decided to visit a therapist becoz i wanted to open up about my issues and traumas and i wanted proper guidance to overcome my depression. While searching for a good therapist i came across practo's website and Dr. Lakshmi's Profile i read the reviews and i felt relief after reading some of the reviews it felt like im not alone and the problems im facing can be solved. So i booked a appointment with Dr. Lakshmi. Initially i was a bit nerves becoz it was my first time meeting a psychotherapist but as soon as i entered her clinic i felt a bit relief and Dr Lakshmi helped me feel relaxed and calm down. Then i started to open up about my problems and complexes . Dr was really patient with me and listen to my problems carefully without making me felt being judged or asham8d of my insecurities. i shared my deepest secrets with her. when i was 8 to 9 years old i was a bit chubby kid i use to get fat shamed by my cousins and friends , one day my older cousins started to make fun about my body.they use to say that my chest looks like female breasts. And one day when i was on my way to visit my uncles shop i was sexually assaulted by my older cousins friends, they were harassing me but somehow i managed to free myself and run away. at that moment i felt really scared and powerless. i was traumatized after that event. i never told my parents about it. this event made me build complexes about my body. i had fatty chest and it was noticeable so even in school people use to bully me and say mean things to me. my self esteem was very low coz i didnt felt comfortable in my own body. i was really insecure about my body and my looks. i had terrible rejection lately. A person whom i was crushing on from 8 years rejected me infront of crowd and it was one of the most embarrassing moments i ever had. after this i never try to approach anyone becoz of my low self esteem and i was scared of rejection . After sharing all my problems with Dr. she guided me in best possible way , she explained the psychology behind the events and made me realize that importance of self love and self belief . she answered my each and every query and guided me .we had 3 session and after that i felt really light coz all of that burden of self isolated pain was gone. i felt confident and ease. now im working on myself to become a best version of myself and to be successful in my career . I have taken some sessions with Ms. Swaroopa Lakshmi and I have come a long way from the day that I took my first session. I always look forward to these sessions , as just talking to her makes me feel very good and positive. She will always listen to you patiently, but at the same time there are so many things that you don’t have to tell her for her to understand. She will just understand it. No hi-fi words or labels will ever be attached to you. You can tell her all your problems without any judgements. You don’t have to tell her something twice, once you have discussed, even a very small problem in a session, ma’am will discuss it in detail and definitely follow up to know if you have had success in dealing with the problem. If not we go back to understanding and discussing the problem again till we find a way through which I can navigate through the problem and feel better. The sessions to me always feel like talking to a friend - but a very smart friend - who will never let you go very easily and catch you in the places you are trying to escape but at the same time, eases you into a very comfortable zone where you can pour your heart out and receive very empathetic ways through which you can deal with the problem. For me, it has been the right mix of professionalism and a friend to talk to, where ma’am understands exactly when to listen to me and when to take the lead and advise me in a way I will understand. In the initial sessions, ma’am understood me well enough to know, what inam trying to say without me putting a lot of effort in trying to explain myself. She also now knows me well enough to give me tasks to do that I am comfortable doing after some sessions. She takes the sessions at the pace that I want to go and when I am mentally ready to take up a problem and wrap my head around it, she will take the session ahead. You can be very frank with ma’am as to what you are comfortable or uncomfortable with and she will accordingly change the approach. I have gone through a step by step way of dealing with my issues with ma'am where first we understand exactly what the problem is and take baby steps to ease into the problem and deal with it one thing at a time where it is never very overwhelming for me to deal and overcome the issue at any given point of time but when I look back after a few sessions the baby steps have turned into a giant step. I have come a long way after taking her sessions and feel much better, happy and confident these days. I will strongly recommend Ms. Swaroopa Lakshmi to anyone seeking help or is like me scared to approach someone new to discuss their personal feelings, and problems. There will be no judgements of any sort here but only a very understand ear to listen to how you feel and make you feel better.
