Hoped for better: Doctor friendlinessExplanation of the health issue
Dr. Hi, what's your concern
Me. Cant pass urine well from last monday, it burns, I suspect its enlarged prostate.
Dr. Show me blood and urine reports.
Dr. You are fine according to these
Me. My B12 levels are elevated. Is it because I had to take a 10d session 1 month ago?
Dr. Not my domain. Meet dr. X
Me. I also have gallstone, NAFLiver, cholesterol, etc
Dr. Question mark look... You need to reduce weight.
Me. Asking politely... what is your domain? Kidney, bladder, prostate.
Dr. Yes... All 3 are fine. Thank you.
Me. So doctor, why do I have issue in urinating
Dr. You might have an infection then. If you want more clarity then get sonography done and meet a kidney expert or a GP.
Me. Any medicine you have prescribed?
Dr. Not required as per reports.
That was the actual conversation after paying 1000 Rs.
I assumed he would further ask any symptoms and try to correlate my other medical conditions with prostate enlargement.
I have to goto some other urologist as my condition remains same
Dr. Soumyan Dey replied
I Would like to state that when someone comes to an Urologist, it is expected that he knows that the doctor is specialist is Urology ( diseases arising the urinary tract) and only treats the same and not gastric, liver, gall bladder problems.
I took a detailed history to treat your disease. I try to evaluate, if your issues comes under my domain, and you didn't have any. Even the reports you brought proved the same. Hence it wasn't required to prescribe unnecessary investigations and medications.
I suggested, the right doctor who can treat your problem. But you insisted on medicines and tests.
Regarding the charges, In Uro-care, we charge 800/- and not 1000/-. So it's a false allegation. You are requested to attach the bill to prove that you are right. I charged it for my time spent for you. Just a humble reminder, you were not invited for a free medical check-up.
