My wife was facing tooth pain in 3rd molar and visited this place on 18th this week.
We were attended by Dr. Ravi Shanthraj.
I had come here for 2nd opinion after already visiting well known denist in mysore.
What i found was Mr. Shantaraj was very secreative about the problem even though i asked him what is the problem with my wife's 3rd molar. He without even referring the earlier tooth xray was adament on having 1 more X-ray in mysore dental care.I agreed as i was looking for an honest opinion. This additionally costed me 500 rupees.
Even with the new xray with him, he wasnt ready to tell us if there was really a bad decay or something else. All he was adament on was having a surgery to remove the molar. When i pleaded to know more about the potential expenditure and the extend of decay and alternate solution, he became rude and told me it that it would cost 5000 and asked me meet his receptionist by paying the consultation fees. And then come back, we will discuss. This i felt is outrageous. No consultation but need money.
I went out and asked how much. She said 1000. When i asked why, she said consultation 200, 200 opinion and 500 XRAY.
I asked for the bill. She wasnt ready to give me one. On my persistence, she went inside and asked doctor if she can give the bill. Hearing for the bill , Ravi Shantaraj got angry and said me that there is no bill in Mysore dental care.
When I said I won't pay till I get the bill, he finally gave me one.
I am sharing my experience with you all so that you are beware and make appropriate decision
Dr. Ravi Shanthraj replied
We are devastated to hear you had a bad experience with us. We are known for our great customer service and attention to detail in everything we do. But we completely understand that our reputation is not something we should hide behind and this what happened
1st Consultation -
Mr.Abilash Shukla and his wife Mrs. Shewtha Misra came to our clinc on 18/12/2018 with pain in Wisdom teeth. Had a Previous history of Operculectomy (removal of tissue around wisdom teeth).
On Examination tooth was badly decayed and surrounding tissues were inflamed. Since the tooth was impacted and was within the gum tissue she was advised removal of tooth. Advised to take an x-ray and they refused for x-ray.
They insisted us to do filling for that tooth and was refused by us, as the tooth was impacted and - had no space to come out and doing a filling was a wrong treatment, and they left the clinic.
2nd Consultation -
On 21/12/18 they visited once more and asked in reception to take x-ray. If they had a previous x-ray they should have got it.
A second Consultation was made with the X-ray and intra oral examination of the patient, with lymph nodes palpation to access the spread of infection and they were advised removal of Wisdom teeth by apprising of all Pros and Cons for about 20 minutes of consultation time was spent for them.
Then with the front office staff he was reluctant to pay the consultation fee and demanded a receipt for the payment towards x-ray. Promptly the front office issued a receipt for payment as per format. But he demanded the receipt should have a GST No. in it.
As per rules Medical services are GST Free and was not ready to listen this and threatened us that he would post it in all online forums.
The stories they have framed in the review as - being secretive about problem, 1-more X-ray, Financial amount mentioned and about the receipts (which he puts as bills) for payments are all FALSE.
Dear Abilash Shukla you could call us so that- we would like to discuss the matter further with you and see how we can make things good.
