He persuaded his Masters in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from SDM College of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Dharwad, Karnataka in 2009. He was the first Post Graduate (PG) student who was given the opportunity as a Visiting Fellow in Tufts University, Boston, USA during his final year of his training program in 2008.
After completion of his training in 2009, he started working as an OMFS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon) in Vikram Hospital Private Limited, Mysuru from 2009 until 2016. He worked as a Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in the Tertiary Trauma Care Centre i.e. Vikram Jeev Hospital – Centre for Advanced Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery & Neuro Sciences (A Unit of Vikram Hospital Private Limited), Mysuru, He was involved in the comprehensive management of facial injuries associated with other injuries. ATLS working module with multidisplinary approach involving the Neurosurgeon, Orthopedician, Plastic Surgeon, General Surgeon, Intensivist, Anesthesiologist was the working atmosphere during the early days of his career for nearly about 5 years. Meanwhile due to the concomitant soft tissue injuries over the facial region in case of RTA , he was able to learn and carry out the facial plastic surgical skills when it mattered to reestablish the facial form and function in case of complex facial injuries due to RTA.
During his association with Vikram Hospital Private Limited, Mysuru he accomplished training in the field of Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Anomalies Management under the Smile Train Program, India from 2009 till 2011. Smile Train Centre was established in Mysuru in collaboration with Vikram Hospital, Mysuru since 2008 and is the only centre in Mysuru in delivering services in the management of Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Anomalies. Since then he has been providing comprehensive care in the overall management of Cleft Anomalies in Mysuru till date. He has also been accredited and certified as a Cleft Surgeon by the Smile Train Medical Council, India since 2012.
He got trained in the field of Oral Implantology as a Fellow from 2011 to 2012 by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, Karnataka. Meanwhile in order to get accredited as Oral Implantologist in tune with the world standards he got his Fellowship and Mastership in the field of Implant Dentistry from International Congress of Oral Implantology, Asia Pacific. He has been practicing as an Oral Implantologist who takes care in complete practice in this field. In the field of Implant Dentistry he has established as one of pioneers in treating the cases pertaining to teeth loss either due to dental causes or facial trauma. Teeth loss due to RTA needs a very comprehensive approach in order to replace the teeth and also the supporting structures. Dr Ravi has been successful in doing so as he is an OMFS who manages Facial Trauma due to RTA and also has the background of Dentistry. He has presented many papers and talks in this field in various national and international conferences.
With the passion towards the Facial Aesthetic Surgical Field, he got trained as a Visiting Fellow in Orthognathic Surgery in European Face Centre, Brussels, Belgium in 2014. Later he also went ahead for additional training in Orthognathic Surgery in ZMACK, Antwerp, Belgium in 2015/2016. Since 2012 he has been treating Jaw Deformities pertaining to teeth and also due to cleft anomalies by Orthognathic Surgery (Jaw Disorder Surgery) in Mysuru till date.
