She has over 18 years of experience in audiology and her expertise lies in accurate diagnosis of hearing loss by using the best audiological equipments, hearing aid trial, programming and fitting, pre & post cochlear implant management that would include MAPPING of speech processor, care and maintainance of listening devices, regular assessments to monitor and track the progress of individuals with hearing loss. She also works closely with parents, caregivers and families to provide an appropriate guidance and counseling so that they can make a right decision for their loved one.
Akanksha has graduated from Topiwala National Medical College, Nair Hospital, Mumbai. Post her graduation, she pursued Special Education for Hearing Impaired (Approved by Rehabilitation Council of India & Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India) She also has an experience as a Lecturer for teaching subjects like ‘Audiology & Aural Rehabilitation’ & ‘Speech and Training of Speech to the Hearing Impaired’. She is a registered professional under Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
In her last stint, she was associated with an Early Intervention Center at a NGO since its inception . She headed this program for over a decade and was directly responsible for overall effective functioning of the center as well as in comprehensive audiological management of young babies and children with hearing loss from the time they are enrolled in the program till they are graduated and mainstreamed in regular school.
