Dr. Simi Saksena completed her MBBS & MS (General Surgery) from GR Medical College Gwalior, M.P. Initially practicing as female General Surgeon was a daunting and challenging task for her in a field purely dominated by males for years. Hard work became her mission and since then there is no looking back. Female patients who had inhibitions could approach her with ease. Her discerning and audacious approach towards her profession soon got accolades from her clientele. She traveled to Germany and obtained training in laparoscopic and gastrointestinal surgery from Klinikum Grosshadern Hospital in Munich, Germany. She returned to India in 1998 and over the last 15 years has developed her practice exclusively dedicated to the field of surgery. She has a team of female anesthetists as well, in all the hospitals where she is visiting due to the strict female privacy asked for by few female patients. In 2007, she was awarded the prestigious "Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery" from the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India at Baroda. Since 1996 she has been practicing as General & Laparoscopic surgeon, operating on a female as well as male patients. She is also into Surgical Gastroenterology, doing upper GI endoscopy.

Dr. Simi is wonderful. She is real, honest and respects her patient's curiosity to know and intellect to understand. She explains the diagnosis and treatment to her patient in simple but practical language and takes a lot of personal interest in improving his/her overall health. Its three years now that Dr. Simi has been treating me for my abdominal symptoms. She also conducted a surgery on me for fistula and it has healed very well. The thing about Dr. Simi is that she just does not focus on your physical health. She also pays respectful attention to your mental wellness - since both are co-related - and does not hold herself back from advising you on what must and must-not be done with a lot of compassion, empathy and practicality. She forces you to take care of yourself and most of the times, succeeds. Frankly, in the course of the last three years, to me she has become Home! Thank you, Doc. :)
