I had always been inspired reading self-help books from my teenage days & always thought how wonderful it would be to receive guidance like this in person, & not through the pages of a book. It took me years later with a teenage son, to come across such a person in Dr. Shefali Batra.

I would not have imagined that a Dr carrying the designation of a 'Psychiatrist', could portray the image of a guide, a mentor, a shoulder to ease the parental stress while being an equal friend to a teenager.

I have been pleasantly surprised to discover that this designation should rather more comfortably & aptly be described as a life coach, to give way to inhibitions that parents/people like me have in bringing their kids or self to people like these who can enhance the quality of your life.

What strikes out the most, is Dr Shefali's super sharp insight. From day one, I was left without words, how someone who doesn't know you, can understand and see through the situation with such cutting accuracy.

She doesn't just focus on the 'problem' and it's causes , but extends herself into the deep understanding of the complete environment settings involved.

Rather than it being a repetition of the dark areas, it becomes a conversational approach.

She always lays the truth as it is, yet she stands by with full support. She takes you through the uncomfortable zone, with a comforting finesse.

What is highly notable is that her 'work' is not restricted from session to session, but covers the period in between too, which gives so much of fluidity and makes it a wholesome process and not just a 'visit to the doctor'!

I was very satisfied with my visit (repeated visits) to Dr Shefali. I have been to her office a few times and anytime I have needed she has been available on the phone for audio and video appointments. What I feel helped me best is her empathic style and her care for how I felt. She is a good human being first, and then an excellent doctor. I cannot imagine how it would have been without her. I have seen so many doctors and nobody understood me because I guess nobody had the time to understand me. She discussed every problem in great detail and suggested a solution for even the smallest issue of mine. She is an excellent doctor - both in terms of the medicine she prescribes as well as her therapy.

Before I met Dr Batra, my life was an emotional mess with bipolar disorder. I was drowned in an unnecessary cocktail of medicines, suffering recurring episodes of mania and depression; and I was not really living my life. Through the sessions she identified my mood switch triggers and delved into the root cause of my emotional conflict. Soon the mania and depression episodes diminished in magnitude and intensity. I became more self-aware and mindful. She got me the most stability with the least medicines ever. It’s lovely that she works with her patients in such a collaborative way. I know I will have a better life ahead thanks to her support and guidance.

I have been suffering from ptsd from past 10 years and I consulted many doctors but nothing helped. I had undergone rtms therapy but it didn't help. Finally I contacted Dr shefali batra. Her assistant contacted me so many times. Requested me to try dr shefali's therapy. I refused initially since dr shefali's fee is way to high. She charges rs 4500 per session so the assistant gave me a discount and asked me to pay 3000rs. Finally, I attended her half an hr session. She was so rude. She shared with me few tests and asked me to fill the excel sheet. I listed all the traumatic events that I had gone through. Week passed there was no response from her. When I contacted her assistant, she asked me to check excel sheet in which dr asked me to fill how I feel daily and why I feel so. I was so surprised. This is how her therapy works. First she will not listen to your story. She doesn't care if you are in pain . Then she has created some tests. ***** **** * ******* *** ********* *** **** ******* Then, she doesn't care to call you back to give your reports. Instead, she would write in 2 lines, write down your emotions on daily basis and why you feel so. I did that task also but she didn't reply. She is busy making youtube videos ** ******* ******* ******** This is how her cbt treatment works and yes she shares with you tedx videos , again another way to gain popularity and mindfulness audios. ***** *** ********* *** **** ** ******** I have met so many psychologists. **** **** **** ******* *** **** *** ******* ******* *** ** **** ********* ****** ** ******* ****** *** ********* *** **** *** ** ** **** ***** *** *** ******* ** ****** **** ******** She has kept an assistant who calls repeatedly and request people to try dr shefali's therapy. And yes , I was also told initially that she regularly follow up her clients and engage them in mindfulness based therapy. Her assistant called me and wrote derogatory comments to me, when I posted my review on some website. ****** * **** **** ** **** **** *** ***** ** ***** *** ******** ****** ** ******* *** ** **** *** *** ***** I am not a supporter of any organisation. I request people not to fall prey ** **** ********** There are many ngo's which support depressed people and there are many clinics where cbt is rigorously followed

Dr Batra has very good understanding of the symptoms of each type of mental illness and knows what specific medicines and therapy to recomond. For me on my second visit itself there was tremendous releaf from an illness that was haunting me for 35 years. Dr Batra is very focused when you meet her. She is also very professional and takes patients by appointments, which is very convenient. When I was in the hospital for pulmonary hypertension leading to blessing, and she came to know about it, she visited me in the hospital to see me. When she went to USA she continued to treat me by tele-conferancing. Dr Batra has all the qualities that one would wish any doctor should have.

I feel odd saying this publicly, but after seeing Dr Shefali's TED talk on the stigma of mental illness I wanted to come out in the open with my OCD so that others like me can seek help and get the benefit from CBT Experts like Dr Shefali.I had very gruesome sexual, religious, fetish and vulgar thoughts and this would make me feel very guilty. I was getting so anxious and depressed that I couldn't study or focus on friendships and relationships. These thoughts had no connection with my life but they just kept coming. It was terrible. Dr Shefali used a combination of medicines and CBT approaches like ERP to help me think and feel differently. I have been seeing her for a long time and finally I'm now relieved of these thoughts. I completed my engineering and I got a great job and I'm so happy about this. Thank you Dr Shefali!

Dr Shefali was a great listener and was very patient with me. She listened (actually actually listened) to my problems and was very empathetic. She was not pushy in her approach though she was assertive of course. She gave good suggestions and connected with me everyday in moving forward with a plan. I would recommend her.
