I acknowledge the feedback you have shared. As a doctor practicing for over 2 decades, I understand the discomfort patients go through with their illnesses and infections. I am sure your infection must also be very discomforting to you.

I’d like to inform you that it is standard practice tor doctors to call patients for follow ups. I did ask you for a follow-up as part my completeness of treatment, I DO need to confirm if your problem has been solved.

I’d also like to inform you that it is standard practice for a doctor to refer a patient to casualty if there is an emergency and the doctor is not available. This is not due to lax behaviour of doctors, but due to genuine circumstances.

Finally, since I believe in fairness and ethics, I suggest that if you believe you have been mis-treated by me (which I don’t believe I have done), I would like to refund you back your money for the extra consultation that you believe has been charged unfairly to you. You may contact me and let me know if and how you’d like that refunded back to you.
