Dr. Kavita Sagarkar

I cannot be more thankful for finding Dr. Kavita! I first approached her for my issues with severe dysthymia, social anxiety & induced attacks. She has a very strong work ethic, is patient in listening to the issues and meticulous in analysing the problem source. On the face of it, it might seem that paying 3000 bucks for an hour is a lot, but from my cumulative experience with her for 2 years, I can more than confidently say that it is worth it. What particularly sets her apart is her approach to imparting therapy. I have had my share of therapists at one of the most reputed hospitals in India, and unlike their textbookish knowledge and mechanical methods, she is very natural in communicating some of the most complex psychological aspects to laymen like me. She won't ever give a biased opinion/ answer- neither affirm nor oppose my views and actions- and that's what I really like about her. I am still a WIP but I have come so far in my journey towards self-empowerment in these two years, thanks to Dr. Kavita!

Well to start off with I had no idea for 2 months that i had major anxiety problems, since my symptoms were quite weird. i had a constant pain in my chest, felt very nausea-tic, would throw up at times, had tremors all over my body at night, my vision was hazy, was getting jerkzss at night, would feels chills all over my body and could hardly sleep for 4 hours at night. I went to every doctor possible the Cardiologist the ENT specialist, Gastroenterologist, as every cramp over my chest over my heart was increasing my anxiety and i had no idea it was anxiety.

I honestly felt suicidal after not being diagnosed for a month and a half and with all these problems and without getting proper sleep as i was getting these tremors through the whole day. I was helpless and i just couldn't get the suicidal thought out of my head. IT was kinda like stuck and that mental battle was the toughest one i have felt in my life. I guess i was watched over by an angel to have survived this. And it was when my family doctor told me that you probably have major anxiety disorder and you need to see a psychiatrist.\nIt was when all hope was lost, I was like ok, lets see this angle as well. I looked up on the internet and reading the comments of everyone here just got the gut feeling that i needed to see Dr.Kavita Sagarkar. I met her and told her about my past history and the due to some family issue that i probably developed anxiety and told her my symptoms. it was a vicious cycle actually. She explained it to me what my problem was actually and assured me that i would be fine without a doubt. She gave me some medicines(seeing my state she had to) which were mild ones and i knew i had to take them coz i hadn't slept for more than 4 hrs a day for the past 2 months . I HAD LOST 11 KGS so my condition was horrendous.

Patients tend to get scared about the medicines a psychiatrist gives because of the general perception in society but trust me she knows the best whether you need one or not. I was initially scared and with a milder dose(like i wanted) i thought I would get better. but it relapsed and got back worse and I was getting frustrated and scared of the medicines she was providing.I thought it was messing my brain further(EVERYONE THINKS THIS... SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE FAITH IN THE DOCTOR ALWAYS)I couldn't believe that even after a month with the medicines my condition was still not improving and I really thought I wouldnt get better ever... And it was an eventual end.\nDr. Kavita told me that i had to trust her and the medicines shes gonna give me( as i was paranoid earlier)........i had anyways lost hope. i prayed to God and just took it...AND that was the turning point. she had given me a potent medicine and it did the trick....Its been 2 months i have been taking that medicine and with the love, patience and assurance that the doctor gave me...i started getting back to normalcy. I HAVE GAINED 6 KGS BACK I really owe my LIFE to this woman.

I couldn't have been in better hands.

PS: I Know I have written a lot but its only because I wanted to highlight all my problems and assure anyone who is reading the comments out there.... that there is Hope!! and her name is DR. KAVITA SAGARKAR :D ...\nAnd its all a phase and you will get better eventually. Trust the almighty... and the doctor too:)\n\n

I have been visiting Dr. Kavita for the last 4 years. I had been to around 5-6 therapists before I was referred to her by a friend and for the first time in forever it felt like a psychiatrist was giving me some concrete information to work with as opposed to telling me that 'oh it's okay to be angry' and things like 'maybe you should write about it.' Sure those methods might work for some people but I would much rather have an insight into my thought patterns and have someone equip me with the tools to deal with them. Dr K gives me just that. She's empathetic and yet will never indulge your maladaptive thoughts. She will give you the space and comfort that is required to overcome those thoughts and behaviors. She works with logic and provides reasoning for everything. What I love about therapy with her is that she never got me to take meds unnecessarily. Previous psychiatrists had flung meds in my direction without even speaking to me properly. She, on the other hand, has been patient with me and has always listened to my needs and requirements. Through out my therapy with her, she has always come to the conclusion that my predicament did not warrant medication. I have improved drastically in how I process things. I still have my low days but because of her I know I'll get over them. I have always recommended her to my friends, who have benefitted from her as well.

Short story: consulting with Dr. Kavita for over 6 years dealing with major depression, self harm, anxiety, panic attacks. She has been exceptional in her therapy and medication. My search for a cure with her became my accidental journey to finding fulfillment in life - which is something I couldn't absolutely fathom.

Long story: The only reason it took me 6 years is because I simply would resist taking her help and not surrender to her. my advise is to listen to her to help you get out of your issues. This would require you to work on yourself as well as listen to her unconditionally. At this point you can stop working with her and come back when you have issues again.

The other option is to work with her long term to find a way to navigate life in all situations. For me this was compulsory because I was having difficulty in functioning with normal things in life. I was extremely motivated to be normal and get out of my head - because what would last for a few days started to last for months and it was now unbearable. Life would be extremely different.

My advise is :

1. Listen to Dr. Kavita unconditionally.

2. Work on the issues yourself after that under her advise.

3. If you don't plan to do both (1) or (2) you are wasting your time as well as hers and therefore you should find another therapist.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. * ***** **** *** ** **** **** **** **** * ****** *** they are here to serve mental patients who are really going through a lot in their lives, **** ** **** ****** I was eagerly looking out for a marriage counsellor since I was into a serious stage of marriage and I was really stuck on what to do next and things were making me anxious day in day out. Thus, I was looking out for a marriage counsellor who can help and guide me for a right way. I got this doctor's reference from a friend and this doctor's visiting card had the job of marriage counsellor. I contacted her and tried to explain her my basic situation. She immediately interrupted and said you just enquire about the class and I will hear to your issues there. Then, I just asked her basically that do you deal in marriage counselling and how long experience in marriage counselling. I repeatedly told her that I am going through marriage issues and I need someone for marriage counselling. She did not actually answer that, she said if you want to know my qualification the check on Google and I have nothing more to tell you. I found that little rude, I was genuinely looking to get an idea and this is not something she should be offended of or to hide it. Then too I thought, since I have got her number through a reference then may be I should still make a try. I even then asked her if you would need my partner in this then even she said no. * *** ********* ** *** **** *** **** ***** **** *** ********* *** **** ******* *** ** **** ***** ** ***** *** ** ******** Later I booked a session with her paying Rs.3000 for an hour. While on the session, she said i need 20 mins at the end to give you my study and the therapy you will need, till that time you tell your story. I started with explaining her my basic background and my current issues with my marriage. She also started digging in my marriage issues by asking multiple questions. I answered her all of them thinking she should know everything to work on my issues. So then I spoke for around 50 mins and 10 mins were remaining. She literally got in hurry and just started cutting me. Then later she told that you are not under depression and need to show to a sexologist but i cannot help you with this. And then she ended the call. I did not understand ** **** ***** *** **** **** ****** I had approached you for dealing with my marriage and my emotional issues and you are saying you cannot help me after listening to my whole story? Later I texted this to her on message. I told her that i needed a marriage counsellor, why did you even take me at the 1st place when you don't deal in it and even after me asking you this a repeated times. She was adamant that I have dealt with marriage issues but you need to show a doctor for your husband's treatment. I told her I had come to you for the emotional challenges and dilema i am facing in my life. I knew i was not under depression or I need where to go for sex treatments. But I wanted a support or guidance for dealing with marriage emotional issues. *** *** *** **** *** ******* ****** ** ****. She just said i cannot help if you are thinking this way.

I will try and keep this brief.

My wife and I went through a traumatic event earlier this year which left us both with a shattered worldview and very different people in it's wake.

Neither of us had *truely* sought help with regards to our mental health in the past - in the interest of full disclosure, my wife did visit Dr. Sagarkar earlier for a different matter not too long before our visit together and had a great experience, which is why we decided to seek her counsel for this. It was certainly my very first time getting any kind of help with mental health and I am glad we happened to choose the right person for the job.

Each time we would visit the Doctor for a consultation, the result would be the same. We would step out of her office a happier, calmer and freer version of ourselves.

Over the course of 10 or so visits, we are both a permanently optimized version of ourselves, ready to face reality with an entirely new and extremely efficient tool-set if that makes sense.

To quickly and objectively summarize,

- Diagnosis was spot on.

- You won't feel like you are speaking to an authority figure, but a very good friend, whose advice you always cherish.

My sister was into depression after my mother's death and for almost four years she completely isolated herself in a room to an extent where she stopped speaking and her hygiene went to a toss. After my father's death it got bad and she also got into huge issues that made me worry to death. Since I had no clue about psychiatry I googled and visited the first recommendation, *** ********* *** **** but the other doctor did not warn me of side effects. Also my sister was diagnosed with scrizophenia, which was a wrong diagnoses as she was everything but never violent. After shifting from one to another doctor and having bad dissatisfactory experiences I found Dr Kavita online. My first session with her was a huge relief , she did not make any false promise rather first explained me the diagnoses, it was bipolar. She also reduced the meds gradually and made me aware of any kind of side effects and if that happened what could be done. She also does not make you dependent on her rather she makes you educated on the issue enough that one learns to deal in a better way. Her counselling is extremely clear and practical and medicines are minimal. She will never ever shoo away your questions nor hide anything from you. It's been 6 months and I have never seen her irritated or frustrated. She handles her patients calmly and welcomingly.

If you find her fee a bit on the higher side than other doctors online, do not think twice. It's worth every penny. She also gives you proper one hour . My sister has improved beyond expectations. She now has a life, works and has become a cheerful person.

When I look back I feel that one step into Dr Kavita's cabin was one of the wisest decision of my life.

She is no magician but she made me believe that with proper guidance, counselling and medicine one can give life a better chance.

A quote I now trust in :- "I just wanted to see what would happen if I didn't give up"

Dr. Kavita gave me a new lease on life. I was a shadow of a person going through the motions that were expected of me. Every little aspect of life left me exhausted, even if it was a trip to the grocery store. I knew I needed help, and I'm glad I received it from such a highly competent, understanding, open minded and kind person.

The first thing that struck me when I met Dr. Kavita was how comfortable she made me feel. I was able to divulge every aspect of my life and received no judgement in return. Just understanding, acceptance and guidance on how to make better decisions in the future.

What I had assumed to be mere anxiety all of my life, turned out to be mild depression instead. I had to be nudged to take medications, but I am eternally thankful that I trusted doc to make the best decisions for me. The medications along with the NLP exercises she taught me revealed the best parts of myself that were buried under years of false perceptions. The exercises helped me finally unburden myself of all the demeaning voices I had been carrying with myself all my life. Doctor helped me chose who I wanted to be, instead of just being a product of my circumstances. For this I am eternally grateful.

If you are planning on employing her services for any problem you might be struggling with, big or small, I would encourage you to go for it. Dr Kavita is not only impeccable in her understanding of the human mind and the psychology behind it, but she also has cultivated her personality to put her patients at ease to help them be vulnerable without reproach. She is highly professional to boot. A fine balance I hope to achieve in my own life someday.

It brings me immense joy to write this review for Dr. Kavita. Of course she has been a kind, caring, and nurturing doctor. But what sets her apart is that she gets to the root causes of one's problems. It is thanks to her that I have now been able to look at life through a new and empowered lens. The roadmaps she provides, practical techniques to help deal with problems when they arise, and her deep insights have led me to understand myself, grow, and become a better person. She is deeply committed for the welfare and growth of her patients. I will always be grateful to her for all her teachings. I have found a life teacher in her!

She is very very experienced. I had online sessions with the doctor. She listened to my problems and told me what was her diagnosis and how much time it would take to completely heal myself. Her sessions were amazing. She is not at all judgemental. You can tell her all your problems with ease. She made me understand what was wrong and showed me how to deal with my problems. She made me look at life in a very different way. She made me independent and gave me the confidence to tackle any situations in the future on my own. She is always avaliable for help and advise and makes sure you get the help you need. She was truly a Godsend in my life.
