In your case, you were already informed about the charges when you called for the appointment. Consultation charges are fixed and same for all the patients irrespective of diagnosis and charges do not vary as per the number of medicines prescribed.

For your kind information, wax cannot be removed when it is hard as that can cause more harm than good especially in enthusiastic children such as yours and this was explained to you explicitly during the consultation. Softening of the wax does not occur after just two instillations of the ear drops as you expected, it needs some time and therefore you were instructed to come back after five days. Wax removal being an OPD procedure is charged extra and it is only fair that you are informed about the charges five days before the procedure and not after the procedure.

Extremely sorry to say that if one finds the charges to be on the higher side, one has low cost options also available. One is not obligated to visit me if one feels the charges are high. Take care.
