I have been In immense discomfort and excruciating pain for the past 7 years. I had to stop working as I cannot be on the computer for more than 10 minutes as my neck would start to get spasms. I stopped driving cos of limited movement of my hands and neck or the pain would leave me nauseous. Never really could participate in any major physical activity with friends or family. My daughter could never get to see the real active mommy or the person I was before my pain started. All the doctors gave up on me after 7 years of strong meds, shots, physiotherapy. I visited India this time so I could meet a surgeon and put an end to this. I remember telling this very well known spine surgeon that I have had enough of pain and to put me put off my misery for once. I said do the surgery, either I get better or I hit the chair forever but at least I’m not disillusioned that the pain will vary off someday and life will be normal. Thanks to Mumbai traffic got held up and reached an hour late almost but he was kind and understanding and inspite of so many patients found time to sit me down and consult. He challenged me to give him 30 days before going in for a surgery and if I would not feel better I could do whatever I wanted to. 28 days after starting his meds I thank my stars that led me to him. I am so much better, no amount of steroids relieved me of pain like his meds have. I had almost a week now of more than 80 percent less pain. I sleep well, I can go for walks now.
