Dr Kaushik was associated with Royal Melbourne Hospital (the second largest cardio thoracic center in Australia), Boston Medical Center in Boston, USA and the Lahey Clinic, USA in addition to leading hospitals in India.
Dr Kaushik’s area of special Interest includes Total Arterial Coronary Revascularisation, Minimal Invasive Valve and Thoracic/Lung Surgery and Vascular & Venous Surgery. He has received various awards & accolades like, The Dr. Bhave Prize (Pune University) for standing second in the subject of surgery at the MBBS examination. He was also honored the Godbole Prize, the Dr. B. N. Ranade Prize and the G.M. Phadke Prize (Pune University) for standing first at the MS (Gen. Surgery) examination (Jan 1992). Dr Shantesh Kaushik was also conferred the Parsuram Memorial Award of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (IACTS) on being the young investigator of the year 1994.
