Before joining Fortis Hospital Mumbai Dr. Rai worked as Senior consultant in Apollo hospital, Bangalore and in King Fahad Specialist Hospital, Dammam in Saudi Arab. He has authored several scientific articles published in International medical Journals as well as book. He is regularly invited to speak in scientific meetings in India as well as abroad.

Dr Rakesh Rai is a great doctor and individual. He takes time to listen and go through all reports ans history as well as listen patiently to suggest best possible options. My father was diagnosed with advanced untreatable HCC (Liver Cancer) in Aug 2018 and since meeting him in Jan 2019, he has given us great advice and referred to the necessary doctors as well to provide help with palliative care. He is a thorough gentleman and my father and me have been really privileged to have met him.
