To begin with, I would like to request to all the people undergoing depression, some kind of phobia or anxiety disorders that please don't consider this as a non treatable health issue. I had the same mindset for around 10 months and I let it aggravate to an extent that I almost thought of considering my existence as a complete burden on my family and it affected me so much so that I almost lost all my family members and friends. There are different degrees of depression and sometimes recognizing the extent of it can be challenging but Dr. Parul understood exactly what I needed which is why the medicine she prescribed has been working so well. I knew there were going to be side effects early on but they are temporary and compared to the benefit of the medication, they are not even an issue. I have had two previous experiences with psychiatrists which were horrible. And they gave me a barrage of pills which were actually really bad for me and not even required. Likewise, I too walked into her since I have been battling with depressive symptoms for 5 years. while talking about mental illness is considered taboo even today, visiting one means one is deemed of unsound mind. Hi I am Gunjan Thoravat. I have anxiety as long as I could remember and to be honest everything seemed scary to me. I had phobias, yes plural! I was scared of dark, thundering, noise etc.

It's been two months of treatment, which includes both medication and EMDR and now it feels like magic! I am being honest, I never felt so peaceful. I am not afraid of dark anymore, recently I found out that even thundering doesn't make me react like a deer being hunted. I actually sat quietly and enjoyed the rain.
