AquaCentric Therapy

Hello everyone, I am Capt. Shreerang Pethe, an airline pilot with a leading airline in India. At the beginning I had this tingling sensation in my last 3 to 4 fingers of my hand and my toes. My back was getting stiffer as days progressed and had difficulty bending backwards and could hardly turn to see over my right shoulder. Until one day I had shooting, terrible and unbearable pain in my right calf which put me off my daily chores. MRI scan revealed that I have posterior and right paracentral herniation of L5-S1 disc with sequestration and inferior migration (i.e. slip disc). I did see the best available Spine surgeons in Mumbai then, who advised me to do the surgery, not urgently but eventually in the coming days. Instead I ended up starting my physiotherapy to see how it can help me before heading straight to surgery. This is the time Dr. Firdaus Shaikh (now my physiotherapist) came to my rescue. During our first therapy session I took my MRI reports to show it to her, but instead of first glancing at it, she made me do some bending and twisting exercises initially to see my back posture and also to note down my twisting and bending limitations. And at the end of it she wrote down something on a piece of paper which exactly matched with what was mentioned in my MRI. Till this point I was not ready to believe that physiotherapy can help me in my case. Of all the impressive skills of Dr. Firdaus Shaikh this unique approach style *** *** ***** ** ***** ********* ** *** ******* *** indeed good enough for me to handover my slip disc case to her and thereafter all I did till date, was just to follow the instructions she gave me...During my therapy sessions with Dr. Firdaus she made me do planks, bridges, hamstring raises, superman, leg raises to name a few..I was stunned to see my graph rise on a daily basis and at the end of my last session I was amazed to see the sharp improvement in my bending and twisting limitations compared to the ones noted during my first session and ofcourse the tingling sensation and pain was all gone..

The one thing Dr. Firdaus Shaikh clearly told me on my last session is that all these exercises were meant to strengthen the core stability and now onwards if I need to stay in this shape then I got to keep doing these exercises as part of my weekly routine...So here I am, still meticulously following what Dr. Firdaus Shaikh told me a few months back, to maintain my core srability and ofcourse apparantly no requirement to do surgery anymore..******** **** ********* ****** *** ******* **** *** ** **** ** her work place is the unique ability of Dr. Firdaus Shaikh. This is my review for her as a thorough and professional physiotherapist.

I was diagnosed with grade 3 cystocele prolapse in January 2021. I have been undergoing physiotherapy with Dr Binal Dave since June 2021. I have benefitted tremendously with the online sessions with Dr Binal. I have to undergo Reconstructive surgery but in the meantime I wanted to build up the muscles and get my body ready for the surgery. My confidence had taken a terrible beating. With consistent regular sessions with Dr Binal and her able guidance we have been able achieve a lot in these past 3 months. There is significant improvement in my physical ability to do regular everyday activities and hence has had a positive impact on my emotional and mental health.

I highly recommend Dr Binal for her capabilities to understand, guide and work with the patient in the manner that is best suited to and required for the patient. The physiotherapy sessions with Dr Binal are geared towards being able to train and connect the mind and body well to be able to function well in day to day living.

I went to aqua centre with a knee issue. She examined me thoroughly and then explained my condition to me. I was very anxious of my inability to exercise, which she understood and took me thru the process of healing gradually and getting back to my physical activities. I thoroughly enjoyed the aqua sessions and started to learn swimming so that I could do the exercises outside of the centre too. I used to have land sessions for knee strengthening which also helped a lot. I would definitely recommend aqua centre to people with injuries.

Dr, Binal Dave- Always smiling, always cheerful, makes everyone taking treatment not only comfortable but cheerful. Under her stewardship, the entire clinic and all the therapist also feel and look cheerful.

Professionally, she is very observant and sees the strength and the weaknesses needing attention by occasionally taking the sessions herself for all the patients.

Her reviews are also well targeted to make the patients realise why what exercise is being prescribed.

Generally very pleasant and a capable therapist to work with.

I first met Dr Utsav Shah when an orthopaedic surgeon referred him to me. In our first meeting, Dr Shah spent 30 mins diagnosing my left knee - no other doctor had ever done that before! Spending so much time on just diagnosis!

Post the diagnosis, he showed me 7-8 physiotherapy exercises, which he also recorded on my phone so I can see the correct form later at home.

During last year's Covid lockdown, Dr Shah did few home visits for me and helped me strengthen my left knee further. He's extremely friendly, makes you feel very comfortable and tells you the complete truth about your condition.

When I first met him, my left knee had 65-70% strength compared to my right knee and I could not imagine running or walking for long distances. But now I can say with confidence that my knee strength has increased to 85-90% and I can run 1.5-2 kms every day. Thanks a lot, Dr Utsav!

Dr. Binal is very knowledgeable and after doing a complete analysis of my symptoms she was able to tell me that I had an issue with the cartilage in my knee. This information was possibly missed by other doctors. Her treatment protocol is very methodical whereby she slowly increased the intensity of the exercises while continuously monitoring my pain levels. Before every session she would ask me how I was feeling from the previous session and curated her exercises to the same. Dr. Binal also keeps me engaged by making the exercises fun and challenging while still focusing on the core issue. All in all I loved being treated by Dr. Binal and the only thing I would want to improve is if we had longer sessions, especially given the urgency of my situation and limited recovery time.

I would highly recommend Acqua Centric. I had a frozen shoulder & was recommended by another patient to go to Acqua. I am very happy with the two therapists that have worked on my shoulder - Dr Binal Dave & Dr Rujuta Joshi. They are highly competent, committed, patient & caring for my progress. They use innovative props in the water to stretch & strengthen my body in a gentle yet firm manner. The pool is extremely hygienic & the general environment is friendly & helpful incl Vipin at the front desk & the staff who assist at the centre. Some sessions are done on land in a physio setup. My shoulder has improved greatly & we are now working on my lower back. Hats off to Mr Harsh Mariwala for conceptualising & implementing such a fantastic facility 👍

Very proactive, worked to correct my diagnosis and treatment plan. Constant follow up with me to ensure my adherence to the same. Our classes were the right amount of intense, and already in a few weeks I've been feeling an improvement. Dr. Binal has always been avaliable for my questions and doubts, taken her work seriously while Being friendly. All this has motivated me to stick to my physiotherapy schedule creating a positive loop. I was diagnosed with "FROZEN SHOULDER" in my Left arm & Shoulder. I liked the way Dr Fridaus has worked out my rehabilitation, treatment and recovery program with my history of Lumber spine problem. I cannot commend her enough for bringing me out of the all excruciating pain in the shoulder & left arm, where my mobility was very restricted and could barely sleep for 20 to 30 minutes in the night because of the excruciating pain.
