Description
Zipac 20 Capsule is a medicine used to treat severe recalcitrant nodular acne (a severe form of acne characterised by large, inflamed, painful acne lesions in the deep layers of the skin) that does not respond to standard treatments with oral antibacterials and topical medicines. It works by reducing the production of an oily substance called sebum that causes acne. It also decreases the redness and swelling associated with acne. Zipac 20 Capsule can cause some side effects like cracked lips, dry eyes, dryness of the nose, dry skin, rash, etc. It may make your skin sensitive to sunlight, so avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen while going out in the sun. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Zipac 20 Capsule should be taken with food or as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid taking more or less than the prescribed dose. It may take a few weeks to see improvement in your condition, so do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor. Zipac 20 Capsule is not recommended for use in children under the age of 12 years. This medicine should be used with caution if you have liver problems. General warnings

Exposure to sun

Zipac 20 Capsule may make your skin sensitive to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and take appropriate precautionary measures like wearing protective clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc., before stepping out in the sun during treatment with this medicine.

Women of child bearing potential

Zipac 20 Capsule may cause serious birth defects if taken during pregnancy. Hence use multiple contraceptive methods one month before starting the treatment, for the entire treatment duration, and one month after stopping the treatment to avoid unintended pregnancy.

Donation of blood

You should refrain from donating blood for one month after stopping the use of Zipac 20 Capsule. If your blood is given to a pregnant woman, it may cause harm to the developing foetus.

Diabetes

Zipac 20 Capsule may alter blood sugar levels and should be used with extreme caution if you have diabetes (high blood sugar levels). Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly during treatment with this medicine.

Disturbance in vision

Zipac 20 Capsule may cause dry eyes, decreased night vision, and scarring or clouding of the cornea, which usually resolves after stopping the treatment. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any vision problems.

Increased plasma triglyceride levels

Zipac 20 Capsule has been associated with an increased level of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood. Hence, it should be used with caution due to the increased risk of heart-related complications and pancreatitis (swelling of the pancreas, a long, flat organ located in the abdomen).

Driving or operating machines

Zipac 20 Capsule may rarely cause dizziness, drowsiness, visual disturbances, etc. Hence, avoid performing activities that require high mental alertness like driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Zipac 20 Capsule. If you forget to take a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for the missed dose.
