Description
Zidime-200 Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, nose, throat, skin, urinary tract, etc. This medicine works by killing the bacteria, thereby preventing the further spread of infection. Zidime-200 Tablet is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Zidime-200 Tablet shows side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects remain for a longer period or become severe. Zidime-200 Tablet can be taken with food for better absorption. For the ease of remembering, take it at the same time every day. Ensure that your complete the course of treatment for better results and to prevent re-infection. Avoid taking Zidime-200 Tablet without consulting your doctor. Unnecessary use of this medicine may cause the bacteria to become resistant to antibiotics. Zidime-200 Tablet is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems. Zidime-200 Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before taking Zidime-200 Tablet.

General warnings

Diarrhoea

Zidime-200 Tablet can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Inform your doctor if you experience severe diarrhoea while taking this medicine.

Antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria develop the ability to defeat the medicine that was intended to kill them. Hence, complete the entire course of treatment with Zidime-200 Tablet even if you feel better after a few doses to avoid antibiotic resistance.

Seizures

A seizure is abnormal electrical activity in the brain that may lead to jerky movements. Zidime-200 Tablet should be used with caution if you have seizures as it may further trigger seizures.

Driving or operating machines

Zidime-200 Tablet may cause dizziness. Hence, avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if your feel dizzy.

Antacids

If you are taking an antacid containing aluminium and magnesium salts for indigestion, they can delay the effects of Zidime-200 Tablet. Hence, take this medicine at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.

Missed Dose

Do not skip a dose of Zidime-200 Tablet. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for the missed dose.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose of Zidime-200 Tablet. Seek emergency medical attention in case of an overdose of this medicine.

Colitis

Zidime-200 Tablet can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Use Zidime-200 Tablet with extreme caution if you have any gastrointestinal problems, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), as it may worsen your health condition.

Impaired kidney function

Zidime-200 Tablet is filtered by the kidney and excreted through urine. A damaged kidney can lead to its accumulation and toxicity. Hence, Zidime-200 Tablet should be used with caution as it can increase the risk of kidney damage especially if you have pre-existing kidney problems.

Impaired liver function

Zidime-200 Tablet may increase liver enzyme levels. Hence, this medicine should be used with caution if you have liver problems as it can increase the risk of liver damage.

Coombs test

The Coombs test is performed to find certain proteins that attack red blood cells. Zidime-200 Tablet may give a false-positive result for the coombs test.
