Description
Vanlid 250 MG Capsule is used for the treatment of clostridium difficile associated colitis (an infection of the intestine) characterized by watery diarrhea, severe abdominal pain, dehydration, loss of appetite, etc. It is also used to treat enterocolitis, an inflammation of the inner linings on both the small intestine and the colon caused by Staphylococcus aureus.

General warnings

Impaired kidney function

This medicine may increase the risk of kidney injury, especially in the elderly population. The dose of this medicine should be adjusted based on the creatinine clearance (CrCl). Any signs and symptoms of kidney injury like fluid accumulation, weight gain should be reported to the doctor.

Drug-resistance

Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug-resistant.

Driving or operating machinery

Use of this medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

The missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is already time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.
