Description
Valfect 80 mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). By lowering your blood pressure, this medicine also helps in reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke (a condition that causes reduced oxygen supply to the brain). Valfect 80 mg Tablet works by relaxing your blood vessels and promoting the easy flow of blood. Valfect 80 mg Tablet may cause side effects like back pain, stomach pain, weakness, diarrhoea, headache, and cough. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Valfect 80 mg Tablet may also cause dizziness, so avoid performing activities that require mental focus, like driving vehicles or operating machines. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Valfect 80 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine. It can be taken with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Try taking it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of this medicine in your blood. Avoid the discontinuation of this medicine without consulting your doctor, as your blood pressure can go up. Exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet along with taking Valfect 80 mg Tablet to get maximum benefits. Valfect 80 mg Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 6 years of age. Allergy

Aliskiren

Aliskiren is a medicine used to control high blood pressure. Avoid taking Valfect 80 mg Tablet and Aliskiren together if you have diabetes or kidney problems, as it may lead to kidney damage, low blood pressure, and hyperkalaemia (high potassium levels in your blood). Thus it may worsen your condition.

Severe liver impairment

Valfect 80 mg Tablet is mainly broken down in the liver. Hence, this medicine is not recommended if you have severe liver impairment, as it may cause an accumulation of the medicine and worsen your condition.

Pregnancy

Valfect 80 mg Tablet is unsafe for use during pregnancy as it can harm your developing foetus. Hence consult your doctor if you are pregnant.

Breast-feeding

General warnings

Hypotension

Use Valfect 80 mg Tablet with caution as it can cause symptomatic hypotension (low blood pressure), especially in conditions such as volume depletion (reduction in extracellular fluid volume that occurs due to salt and fluid losses) or if you are treated with high dose diuretics (medicines that increase urine production and promote the removal of excess salt and water from the body).

Hyperkalemia

Valfect 80 mg Tablet may cause an increase in the potassium levels in your blood (hyperkalaemia). Use this medicine with caution if you are taking potassium-sparing diuretics (medicines that promote the removal of excess salt and water from the body without causing potassium loss in the urine) or potassium supplements, or if you have impaired kidney function. Your doctor may periodically monitor your blood potassium levels during treatment with this medicine.

Use in children

Valfect 80 mg Tablet is not recommended for use in children below six years of age due to the lack of safety and efficacy data.

Driving and operating machines

Valfect 80 mg Tablet may cause dizziness in some cases. Do not drive vehicles or operate machines if you feel dizzy after taking this medicine.

Kidney conditions

Valfect 80 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have kidney problems as this medicine may further worsen your condition. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your kidney function while you are taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

If a dose of Valfect 80 mg Tablet is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.
