Description
Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet is a man-made form of Vitamin B12 which is important for nerve health, brain function, and red blood cell production. This medicine is mainly used to treat Vitamin B12 deficiency in people with anaemia and peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain in hands and feet). Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet regulates certain vital bodily functions like cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet shows side effects like diarrhoea, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if these side effects do not resolve with time or worsen. Avoid consumption of alcohol during treatment with Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet as it may decrease the effect of this medicine. Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of treatment based on your health condition. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as your condition may become worse. Avoid taking this medicine with an antacid as it may delay the absorption of Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet. Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it, or if you have Leber's disease (nerve condition that leads to sudden, painless vision loss). Leber's Disease

Leber's disease is an eye condition in which the nerves in the eyes get damaged leading to loss of vision. Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet is not recommended for use if you have Leber's Disease as it may worsen your condition.

Allergy

Avoid taking Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet if you are allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions to this medicine are rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Pregnancy

General warnings

Elderly

Gastrointestinal surgery

Folic acid

Folic acid supplements can mask some of the symptoms of anaemia caused by Vitamin B12 deficiency. Hence, consult your doctor to ensure that the right supplement is being taken.

Use of antacids

Combined use of antacids with this medicine may reduce the absorption of Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet. Your doctor may advise you on the duration gap between these two medicines.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is time for the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose of Unicobal 1500 MCG Tablet. Seek immediate medical attention in case of an overdose.
