Description
Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup is a combination medicine that consists of Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. It is used for the treatment of diarrhoea (loose and watery stools) caused by bacteria and parasites in children. This suspension helps to treat diarrhoea due to mixed infections. However, this combination is banned for use in India due to its serious side effects. Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup has some side effects like the metallic taste in the mouth, headache, breathing difficulty, stomach pain, nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or bother your child. Do not give Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup if your child is allergic to it. Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup should be used on your doctor's prescription only. This suspension can be given either before or after meals. For the ease of remembering, give this medicine to your child at the same time every day. Once you start using this medicine for your child, ensure that the entire course of treatment is completed. Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup may not be suitable for all children. Inform your paediatrician about your child’s complete medical history, including any previous episode of allergy, birth defects, heart, lung, gastrointestinal, liver or kidney problems before using this medicine.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish the entire course of treatment with Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup, even if the condition of your child gets better after taking few doses, to avoid antibiotic resistance (a condition where microbes evolve mechanisms that protect them from the effects of antibiotics). Also, inform your doctor if the diarrhoea does not stop even after finishing the full course of treatment.

Allergic skin reaction

Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup is likely to cause allergic skin reactions in some children. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, or severe itching/swelling, especially on the face. It can also make children more sensitive to sunlight or tanning lights.

Dehydration

Diarrhoea or loose stools can cause dehydration (loss of water from the body). Therefore, make your child drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.

Missed Dose

If you forget to give a dose of Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup to your child give it as soon as you remember. If the time of your child's next dose is near, skip the missed dose and resume the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

Overdose

Never give more than the prescribed dose to your child. Seek emergency medical attention in case you suspect that you might have given an overdose of Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup.

Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup is filtered by the kidney and excreted through urine. Hence, maintain caution while using this medicine if your child has any kidney problem as it can increase the risk of kidney damage.

Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup may increase liver enzyme levels and cause liver swelling. Hence, maintain caution while giving this suspension to your child as it can increase the risk of liver damage.

Tablo-OZ Dry Syrup is a combination of Ornidazole and Ofloxacin. Ofloxacin stops the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase which helps to kill or prevent the growth of bacteria. Ornidazole kills bacteria and other infectious germs like protozoa by damaging their DNA.
