Description
Sumitrex 100 mg Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of migraines. It works by contracting the blood vessels in the brain and also inhibiting the action of chemical substances that cause headaches and sensitivity to sound and light. It can only help manage the symptoms of migraines and cannot help in preventing or reducing the frequency of migraine attacks. Sumitrex 100 mg Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, weakness, tingling and numbness of feet and hands, and flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck, and trunk). Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or become severe. Avoid activities that require high mental alertness like driving vehicles and operating machines as it may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Sumitrex 100 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. Your doctor will determine the dose and duration of treatment based on your clinical condition. Be sure not to exceed the recommended dose and take it according to the instructions given by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, as your condition may become worse. Sumitrex 100 mg Tablet may not be suitable for everyone. It is not recommended for use if you have seizures (fits), depression, and heart and blood vessel problems. Inform your doctor if you have kidney, or liver problems before starting the treatment with this medicine. Also, consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are a class of medicines used in the treatment of depression. Combined use of Sumitrex 100 mg Tablet and MAOIs is not recommended as it may increase the risk of serious side effects. This medicine should not be used for at least two weeks after the discontinuation of MAOIs.

Hemiplegic or Basilar Migraine

Hemiplegic or basilar migraine is a severe headache that starts at the spine or the lower part of the brain called the brainstem. Sumitrex 100 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have hemiplegic or basilar migraines.

Cerebrovascular Disease

Cerebrovascular disease refers to a group of conditions that affect the blood vessels and blood supply to the brain. Sumitrex 100 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have cerebrovascular diseases as it may further worsen your condition.

Missed Dose
