Description
Setuvir 5% Cream is an antiviral medicine used to treat cold sores caused by the herpes simplex virus. Cold sores are small painful blisters that may form around the mouth or other areas of the face. This medicine slows down the growth of the virus and promotes the healing of cold sore blisters. Setuvir 5% Cream rarely show side effects. However, less commonly, you may experience redness, itching, or burning sensation at the site of application. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects do not resolve with time or worsen. Setuvir 5% Cream should be used as prescribed by your doctor. Clean and dry the affected area and apply a thin film of this medicine on it. Wash your hands before and after applying this medicine. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, or broken skin. Rinse thoroughly with water in case of accidental contact. Setuvir 5% Cream is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you are using any other topical medications or skin care products on your face before starting the treatment. Setuvir 5% Cream is meant for use on the skin only. Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area and spread uniformly. Do not use this medicine in the eyes, genital area (private part), or inside of the mouth or nose. Avoid touching the sores unnecessarily with your hands or towel to avoid spreading the infection. Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 10 days of treatment.
