Description
Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup is an antibiotic that is given to children. It is used to treat bacterial infections in different parts of the body like skin, bone, ears, throat, lungs and urinary tract. It kills or stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. This medicine is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup shows some common side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. These are generally mild and will subside as your child's body adjusts to the medication. Inform your doctor if the side effects become severe or persist for a long time. Do not give this medicine to your child if he or she has/had an allergic reaction to it or penicillin antibiotics. Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup can be given to your child with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions about the dose, timing, and method. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medication, repeat the dose. If it is almost time for the next dose, avoid giving a double dose. Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup may interact with the actions of other medicines. Inform the doctor if your child has any ongoing/history of heart, kidney, liver or bleeding problems and if he/she is taking any medications for the same. This will help in dose adjustment and overall treatment.

Impaired liver function

Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup may increase liver enzyme levels and cause liver swelling. If your child has any medical conditions of the liver, take special consideration while giving Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup due to the risk of liver damage. Dose adjustment will be done by your doctor based on the clinical condition.

Diarrhoea

Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Get emergency medical help if your child experiences severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Call your pharmacist/doctor before giving anti-diarrhoeal medication.

Antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria change their response to the use of medicines and become resistant. This occurs due to the long term use of antibiotics. Consult your doctor if your child still feels unwell after completing the Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup course.

Missed Dose

Colitis

Colitis is swelling in the lining of the colon (part of the large intestine). Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup can kill the helpful bacteria in the stomach or intestine and may lead to diarrhoea. Therefore, use Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup with extreme caution if your child is having gastrointestinal (disorders of the digestive system) diseases, particularly colitis, as it may worsen the condition.

Seizure disorders

A seizure is a brain disorder that occurs due to sudden neurological disturbances which result in uncontrolled jerking of the body and behavioural changes. Use Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup with caution if your child has seizures or fits because it can trigger the condition. Inform your doctor such that dose adjustments can be done.

Kidney Disease

Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup is filtered by the kidney and moved out of your body through urine. Take Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup with caution as this medicine may lead to kidney damage and can worsen your condition. The dose may be adjusted based on your clinical condition.

Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup is used orally to treat bacterial infections in children. Check the label for directions before use. Add the required amount of water to the powdered medicine as advised and shake the Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup well before use. Measure an appropriate dose using the accompanying measuring spoon or dropper. The quantity given should not be lesser or greater than the prescribed one. Give Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup with or without food. Never give more than the prescribed dose. Give this medicine at around the same time daily. Your child must finish the entire antibiotic course. Abrupt discontinuation may make the bacteria grow, become resistant (to the antibiotics), or cause another infection. Make sure your child drinks plenty of water, this will prevent fluid loss due to diarrhoea (side effects of this medicine). If your child has diarrhoea that lasting for more than four days, is severe and watery, or contains blood, inform the doctor. Viruses cause conditions such as the common cold and flu. In such situations, this medication should not be used. Give Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup to your child only in present infection. Never store medication for future disease. If your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty while taking this medicine, stop using it and contact your child's doctor immediately. After taking Rofex 125 MG Dry Syrup for an extended period of time, you may see white spots within your child's mouth and throat. This might be the result of a fungal infection. So, if your child exhibits any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
