Description
Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is a combination of Hydrochlorothiazide and Ramipril. This medicine is used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It works by relaxing your blood vessels. This helps your heart to pump blood easily and increases water excretion from your body, thus decreases high blood pressure. Therefore, this medicine also reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke. Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet has some side effects like cough, nausea, headache, dry mouth, and upset stomach. Due to the action of this medicine, you may experience frequent urination while taking this medicine, and it is not a side effect. Drink plenty of fluids while taking medicine to overcome muscle weakness, dry mouth, and extreme thirst. Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may cause dizziness, therefore avoid driving vehicles or operating machines. Rise slowly from sitting or lying position if you feel dizzy while on Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet treatment. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, seek a doctor's consultation at the earliest. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet can be taken in the morning to avoid frequent urination at night. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or diabetes. Frequent monitoring of your heart, liver, kidney functions and electrolytes levels may be required to use this medicine safely. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines before starting the treatment. Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in children. Allergy

Anuria

Taking Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet in case of anuria (a condition where the kidney is unable to produce urine) is not recommended as it may cause kidney damage.

Renal artery stenosis

Renal artery stenosis is a condition in which the blood vessels that carry blood to your kidneys become narrow and restrict blood flow. Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is not recommended if you have renal artery stenosis as it reduces the filtration capacity of your kidneys.

Aliskiren

Combined use of Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet together with Aliskiren is not recommended if you have diabetes and/or kidney impairment. Combined use of these medicines may increase the risk of side effects.

Angioedema

Use of Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is not recommended if you have a history of angioedema (swelling in the lower layer of your skin). In such cases, you may be at an increased risk of angioedema while receiving the treatment. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns.

General warnings

Liver disease

Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with extreme caution if you have liver disease due to an increase in the risk of side effects. Close monitoring of liver function is necessary while taking this medicine. Report any symptoms like confusion or jaundice [yellow skin discolouration due to increased level of bilirubin (blood pigment)] to your doctor on priority.

Volume and electrolyte depletion

Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may alter the blood volume and electrolyte levels. This may cause dizziness, dry mouth, and acid-base imbalance. Close monitoring of blood pressure and electrolyte levels is recommended.

Kidney disease

Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may cause azotemia (elevated levels of urea and other nitrogen compounds in your blood) if you have a history of severe kidney disease. Your doctor will closely monitor your kidney function or adjust the dose to use this medicine safely.

Hyperkalemia

Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may increase the potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). It should be used with caution in patients with hyperkalemia and potassium levels should be monitored regularly. Avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and potassium supplements during treatment with this medicine.

Use in children

Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy of this medicine is not clinically established.

Cough

Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may cause a persistent nonproductive cough. It is resolved when the medicine is discontinued.

Driving and operating machines

Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may cause dizziness and a decrease in blood pressure. Avoid performing any activities that require high mental alertness like driving vehicles or operating machines.

Hypotension

Symptomatic hypotension (low blood pressure) may occur if there is volume depletion (excess loss of salt and fluid leading to reduced fluid volume) or if you are treated with high-dose diuretics (medication that increases the removal of water and salt from the body via urine). Correct this condition before initiating treatment with Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet.

Missed Dose

If you missed a dose of Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If the next dose timing is near, skip the missed dose. Take your next dose at your usual time. Do not double the dose.

Overdose

Never take Ramirica H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet more than the prescribed dose. If you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of this medicine, go to the emergency department of your local hospital.
