Description
Oxipod CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is a combination of cefpodoxime and clavulanic acid. It is used to treat bacterial infections affecting your lungs, nose, throat, ears, skin and urinary tract. This medicine is also used in treating sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhoea. It works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall and eventually kills them. Oxipod CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Oxipod CV (200/125 mg) Tablet has some common side effects such as diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Contact your doctor if any side effects are seen for a longer period. This medicine may also cause dizziness or drowsiness, so avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking it. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Oxipod CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Oxipod CV (200/125 mg) Tablet can be taken with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take this tablet around the same time every day. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. Do not take antibiotics without consulting your doctor because unnecessary use of an antibiotic can reduce its effectiveness for future infections. Oxipod CV (200/125 mg) Tablet may interact with live vaccines. Hence, maintain a time gap of at least 2 hours between the administration of the vaccine and this medicine. Inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, seizure or gastrointestinal diseases before taking this medicine. If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or are breastfeeding, It is recommended to take this medicine only after consulting your doctor.

Diarrhoea

Antibiotic resistance

The entire course of treatment with Oxipod CV (200/125 mg) Tablet should be completed to avoid antibiotic resistance (microorganisms develop the ability to defeat the antibiotics), even if the condition gets better after taking few doses.

Use in children

Oxipod CV (200/125 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age as the safety and efficacy data is not available.

Kidney diseases

Missed Dose
