Description
Nimica 50 MG Syrup is a painkiller that contains Nimesulide. It is used to treat pain associated with osteoarthritis (pain on movement due to wearing of the protective covering at the ends of the bones) and menstruation (monthly period). It is also used to treat mild to moderate pain caused due to sprains and strains of joints and muscles. Nimica 50 MG Syrup works by decreasing the intensity of pain signals to your brain and preventing the release of substances called prostaglandins (compounds in your body made of fats that have a chemical messenger like effects) that cause pain and fever. Nimica 50 MG Syrup has some side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, skin rash and diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. It may cause dizziness. Hence, avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine. Do not consume alcohol while using this medicine as it may worsen drowsiness. Nimica 50 MG Syrup is to be taken after food or milk to avoid an upset stomach. For the ease of remembering, try taking this medicine at the same time every day. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as your symptoms may reoccur. Nimica 50 MG Syrup is not recommended for children below 12 years of age. It is not recommended for use if you have liver and kidney problems as it can worsen your condition. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.

General warnings

Gastro-intestinal bleeding

Long term use of Nimica 50 MG Syrup can cause damage to your stomach and intestine. Serious conditions like bleeding, ulceration, and perforation of the stomach or intestinal wall can occur. Any symptom indicating ulceration and bleeding like chronic indigestion, the appearance of coffee coloured dry blood in stools or vomiting of blood should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Heart diseases

Long-term use of Nimica 50 MG Syrup may increase the risk of a heart attack if you have pre-existing heart problems. It is not used for treating pain after coronary artery bypass surgery (a surgical procedure used to treat certain heart problems).

Use in elderly

Nimica 50 MG Syrup should be used with caution in the elderly due to an increase in the risk of undesired side effects. Close monitoring of kidney, liver and heart function and also symptoms of bleeding is necessary while receiving this medicine.

Use in children

Nimica 50 MG Syrup is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age as the safety and efficacy data is not available.

Driving or operating machinery

Nimica 50 MG Syrup may cause dizziness or blurred vision. Do not perform any activity such as driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Nimica 50 MG Syrup as soon as possible. If it is already time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose.
