Description
Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID) that contains Nimesulide as an active ingredient. It is used to treat pain and fever. It provides relief from mild to moderate pain due to menstrual cramps and osteoarthritis. It decreases the intensity of pain signals to the brain and also prevents the release of substances called prostaglandins in the brain that cause pain and fever. Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age as safety is not established. Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet should be taken with food to avoid stomach irritation. For the ease of remembering, take it at around the same time every day. Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet relieves pain and swelling due to arthritic conditions but does not cure it. Use it cautiously if you have liver and/or kidney problems. It should not be used for prolonged periods due to the risk of severe liver damage. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Allergy

Liver disease

Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet gets converted to its active form in the liver. Therefore, if you take large amounts of this medicine, more active forms are formed which can damage your liver. The use of this medicine is not recommended if you have severe liver disease because it can further damage your liver.

Severe kidney impairment

Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet may affect your kidneys when you used it for prolonged periods of time. A long term use with higher doses of some painkillers may harm normal kidney function. Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet is not recommended if you have severe kidney diseases because it can further damage your kidneys.

General warnings

Gastro-intestinal bleeding

Long term use of Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet can cause damage to the stomach and intestine. Serious conditions like bleeding, ulceration, and perforation of the stomach or intestinal wall can occur. Any symptom indicating ulceration and bleeding like chronic indigestion, the appearance of coffee coloured dry blood in stools or vomiting of blood should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Heart diseases

Long-term use of Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet may increase the risk of a heart attack if you have pre-existing heart problems or heart failure. It is not used for treating pain after coronary bypass surgery.

Use in Elderly

Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet should be used with caution in the elderly population due to an increase in the risk of undesired side effects. Close monitoring of kidney, liver and heart function and also symptoms of bleeding is necessary while receiving this medicine.

Use in Children

Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy data is not available.

Driving or Operating machinery

Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet may cause dizziness or blurred vision. Do not perform any activity such as driving a vehicle or operating a machine after taking this medicine

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a dose of Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double your dose to make up for missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose of Nimesulide 100 MG Tablet. Seek emergency medical attention if you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of this medicine.
