Description
Nicip 1 % Gel is a painkiller that contains Nimesulide. It is used to treat acute pain associated with osteoarthritis (pain on movement due to wearing of the protective covering at the ends of the bones). It is also used to treat mild to moderate pain caused due to sprains and strains of joints and muscles. Nicip 1 % Gel works by decreasing the intensity of pain signals to your brain and preventing the release of substances called prostaglandins (compounds in your body made of fats that have a chemical messenger like effects) in your brain that cause pain and fever. Nicip 1 % Gel causes side effects like dry and red skin, burning or irritation at the application site etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects are persistent or bothering you. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. Nicip 1 % Gel is for external use only. Use it as prescribed by your doctor. Try applying the gel at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. Complete the whole treatment even if you feel better. Your doctor can perform a patch test (a procedure done on your skin) if you are applying this medicine for the first time. Nicip 1 % Gel is not recommended in children below 12 years of age. Inform your doctor about all your current medications, including all creams, herbs and supplements, before starting the treatment. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before using this medicine.

Use in Children

Photosensitivity

Nicip 1 % Gel is meant for external use only. Follow all dosing instructions mentioned on the label or the package insert. Keep this medicine away from children and pets. Apply a thin layer of Nicip 1 % Gel to the clean, dry affected area. Wash your hand before and after applying the gel. Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than recommended by your doctor. Do not cover the application area with bandages or other coverings unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Avoid exposing yourself to long periods of sunlight as it may cause side effects. Report any severe undesired side effects or a lack of improvement to your doctor immediately.
