Description
Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. This antibiotic is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the throat, lungs, ears, nose, joints, urinary tract, and skin. Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension is also used with other medications to kill helicobacter pylori bacteria that cause stomach ulcers. It stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Side effects of Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin. Use it cautiously in individuals with kidney problems. Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension can make birth control pills less effective. You may be asked to take a different way of birth control methods to prevent unintended pregnancy. You can take Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take this amoxycillin suspension around the same time every day. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. For the best results, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced times.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, make an appointment to consult your doctor.

Mononucleosis

Mononucleosis is also called as kissing disease is an infection caused by Epstein-Barr virus. It is spread through saliva. People with mononucleosis may develop a maculopapular skin rash (flat and small raised bumps on the skin) after 5-10 days of treatment with Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension and resolves within days of discontinuing the use. Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension may not be appropriate medicine in patients with mononucleosis.

Colitis

Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore use Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension with extreme caution in patients with gastrointestinal (mouth to anus) diseases, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Kidney Disease

Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension is filtered by the kidney and moved out of the body through urine. Patients with kidney diseases need special consideration while taking Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension due to the risk of kidney damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.

Urine Sugar Test

Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension is moved out from the body via urine. High urine concentrations of Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension might give a false-positive result for the urine sugar test (test to determine the presence of glucose). Inform your doctor or lab technician about the use of Mox Bd 200 mg Suspension before doing this test.
