Disease interactions
Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution if you have diabetes (increased blood sugar levels), as this medicine may alter the blood sugar levels. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while you taking this medication.
Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet may decrease the excretion of uric acid from the body and increase the risk of hyperuricaemia (increased uric acid in the blood). Hence this medicine should be used with caution if you have a history of gout (swelling and pain due to the accumulation of uric acid in the joints) or kidney problems.
Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution if you have liver problems, as this medicine may further worsen your condition. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your liver function while on treatment with this medicine. If you notice any symptoms of jaundice like yellow discolouration of your skin, eyes, and nails or light, clay-coloured stools, abdominal pain, fever, chills, etc., inform your doctor immediately.
Glaucoma is a condition in which your intraocular pressure (fluid pressure inside your eyeballs) is abnormally high which can lead to optic nerve damage and eventual loss of your vision. Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution if you have glaucoma due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.
Hyperlipidaemia is a condition with high blood lipid (cholesterol/fat) levels. Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet may further increase your blood cholesterol levels and should be used with caution if you have hyperlipidaemia.
Electrolyte abnormalities
Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet is commonly associated with loss of electrolytes (potassium, sodium, chloride, bicarbonate, magnesium), which may increase your risk of arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) and heart attack. Inform your doctor if you experience any signs and symptoms of fluid or electrolyte imbalance such as dryness in your mouth, thirst, weakness, drowsiness, restlessness, muscle cramps, low blood pressure, decreased urine output, irregular heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, etc. Your fluid and electrolyte abnormalities need to be corrected before beginning treatment, and blood pressure needs to be monitored periodically.
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is a condition in which your body's immune system attacks your tissues and organs. Symptoms may include skin rash, fever, fatigue, joint pain, etc. Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution if you have this condition as this medicine may worsen your symptoms.
Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution if you have pre-existing kidney problems due to its reduced effectiveness. Since this medicine is eliminated by kidneys it may also increase your risk of severe side effects, resulting from the accumulation of this medicine in your body.
Myasthenia gravis is a condition that causes weakness in your skeletal muscles (the muscles your body uses for movement). Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution if you have this condition as it may worsen your symptoms and cause severe muscle weakness.
Pheochromocytoma is a condition with a non-cancerous tumour in your adrenal glands (glands located above your kidneys), which results in high blood pressure. Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet when given alone in this condition may further increase your blood pressure. Inform your doctor before starting treatment with this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe additional anti-hypertensive medicines to help control your high blood pressure.
Psoriasis is a chronic (long-term) skin condition that causes a skin rash with red, itchy, scaly patches. Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution if you have this condition as it may worsen your skin rash.
Metonce H 25/12.5 Tablet should be taken with caution if you have pre-existing lung problems such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a condition with swollen air sacs, resulting in breathing difficulties) as it may worsen your breathing problems.
