Description
Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup is a combination of cefpodoxime and clavulanic acid. It is used in children to treat bacterial infections affecting your lungs, nose, throat, ears, skin and urinary tract. It works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall and eventually kills them. Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup has some common side effects such as diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Do not use this medicine if your child is previously allergic to it. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or bother your child. Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup is an effective medicine used in infants above 3 months of age. Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup can be given with or without food. Before administration, dissolve the powder in a glass of water. For the ease of remembering, give the dry syrup to your child at the same time every day. Once you started using this medicine for your child, ensure that the entire course of treatment is completed. Avoid unnecessary use of Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup as excessive use may cause the bacteria to become resistant to treatment. Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup may interact with live vaccines. Hence, maintain a time gap of at least 2 hours between the administration of the vaccine and this medicine. Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup may not be suitable for all children. Inform the paediatrician about your child’s complete medical history, including any previous episode of allergy, a blood disorder, birth defects, heart, lung, stomach, skin, liver, or kidney problem on priority.

Missed Dose

Colitis

Colitis is the inflammation of the large intestine. Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup can kill the helpful bacteria in your child's stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore use this medicine with extreme caution if your child has any stomach and intestinal diseases, particularly colitis, as it may worsen his/her condition.

Kidney diseases

Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup is filtered by the kidney and excreted through urine. Hence, maintain caution while using this syrup if your child has any kidney disease as it can increase the risk of kidney damage.

Liver disease

Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup may increase liver enzyme levels and cause liver swelling. Hence, maintain caution while giving this syrup to your child, as it can increase the risk of liver damage.

Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup is used in treating bacterial infections. You can give this medicine with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Dissolve the required amount of Kepodil CV (50/31.25 mg/5 ml) Dry Syrup in a glass of water and administer it to your child. Make sure that you should complete the entire course of this medicine even if the symptoms disappear after few days. If you discontinue using this medicine, the infection may recur. The reconstituted suspension may be stored under refrigeration (2 to 8 degrees Celsius) for a duration of 14 days. Keep away from the reach of children and pets. Do not use it after the expiry date. Ensure that unused medicine is disposed of properly. Do not recommend this medicine to other parents even if their child's condition appears to be the same.
