Ilaprazole

Description

Ilaprazole is a medicine used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (a condition in which the stomach acid flows back into the food pipe), peptic ulcer (a condition in which the protective layer of your stomach and intestine gets damaged by the acid), and other stomach conditions associated with an excessive acid release. It works by inhibiting the release of acid into the stomach. Ilaprazole shows common side effects such as diarrhoea, gas, headache, or nausea. These side effects usually subside with time. However, if they persist or worsen, consult your doctor for further assistance. Ilaprazole should be taken before a meal. Do not break, crush, or chew the tablet. Swallow it as a whole with an adequate amount of water. The dose and duration of the medicine should be taken according to your doctor’s prescription. Take it for the recommended duration for best results. Avoid the discontinuation of this medicine without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen your symptoms. Ilaprazole is not recommended if you are allergic to it. It should be used with caution if you have hypomagnesaemia (low level of magnesium, a mineral vital for nerve, muscles, and immune system functioning) or liver conditions. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
